I was looking for a new dermatology practice and I have found it! I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. The exam was extremely thorough and the staff is very attentive. I went to the office in Havre de Grace and highly recommend!

Scheduled an appointment a month ago, confirmed my insurance and everything. Also confirmed a couple days prior to the appointment, only to get there and the front desk tell me they don’t accept my insurance. Receptionist looked me dead in the face and asked if i wanted to pay out of pocket. (No i don’t sorry) I know it’s not their fault, but i am so infuriated with the lack of patient communication/ management. I had to go into work late as well just to fit this appointment in to my schedule. A very frustrating experience.

I cannot recommend this practice enough. Everyone was very kind! The ladies at the front desk were thorough. Lola and Joslin get a special shout out for helping me with my insurance. You dont get this level of customer care very often these days. The office is clean and the entire staff helped me with my concerns. I will be telling my family and friends about Tideway!

I would have given this office 5 stars, and the doctors absolutely deserve that rating. However, my experience with the front desk staff was extremely disappointing. When I arrived for my appointment and was going over some information with one of the younger ladies, one staff member looked at another and smirked, as if I should have already known the information. It came across as arrogant and unwelcoming. The other lady while explaining to the one I was speaking with was speaking as if I wasn’t even present and had a bad attitude. Unfortunately, that interaction left a lasting impression. Front desk staff are the first point of contact and represent the office, so professionalism and kindness matter. Because of this experience, I won't be returning to this location and will be going elsewhere. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as patients deserve to be treated with respect.

First, I want to note that I am currently pregnant and had already indicated on my paperwork that I understand certain treatments cannot be done during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Before seeing the provider, I explained to the nurse (or intake staff) the three concerns I wanted addressed: rosacea, a spot on my cheek, and a spot on my eye. When the provider came in, she remained about five feet away and immediately said she wanted to treat my rosacea. I agreed, and within about two minutes she prescribed a medication and asked if I had any questions. During this time, she never examined my face. I then had to ask whether the medication was safe for pregnancy, as I always double-check. It was not. She prescribed an alternative and began to leave. I had to stop her to ask about the spot on my cheek, at which point she stepped slightly closer and said it “looked fine” without examining it. I then asked about the spot on my eye, which she also did not examine, and she simply stated she would refer me to plastics for removal and told me to call after I finish breastfeeding. Overall, the visit felt rushed, unprofessional, and unproductive. I understand there may be limitations on treatment during pregnancy, but that should have been clearly explained. I am especially concerned that, had I not asked, I would have been given a medication that is not safe during pregnancy without any apparent review of my chart. I spent more time in the waiting room completing paperwork than I did with the provider, who did not perform a proper examination. Based on this experience, I do not plan to return after I am done breastfeeding and will be seeking care elsewhere.
