Dr. Hiren shah is my primary doctor over 20 years. He is very good in serving. My wife had urgent health issue and he was out of town, so we got appointment with Karen Lapoint.(Nurse practitioner) She mentioned during visit that besides tablets she is prescribing Cough syrup also( my wife had cough issue also) . When I picked up at CVS , I got only 2 types of tablets. So I called her secretary to verify that we are getting cough syrup or not.She was not available ,so I left message that we are leaving next day to Florida so please call us back whether she needs syrup or not. I waited 3-4 hrs and called again since we are going out of town . I left message again. No response. Then I called My Dr. Hiren shah's secretary Bobby. She is very good in responding. She mentioned that Karen's secretary is waiting answer from Karen about syrup. But my frustration is why her secretary did not call me and mention that I got your message and waiting for Dr.'s Answer. Guess what ? 2 days gone and still no call from Karen or her secretary. Any medical professional has to be aware that patients service/timely communication is very important as your medical knowledge. You expected patients to be in time otherwise you are charging fees. If you don't respond in time then patients need to be discounted? Just a thought. Not looking for $. I am frank and giving candid opinion.

They’re usually at least 30 minutes late… It really messes with my work schedule and stresses me out. But the providers are very informative. Dr. Hakim and Jen are great with communication and explaining things. Best level of care I have come across in the area.
I don't leave a review unless I have a really good OR poor experience and unfortunately in this case my experience has been poor.
I am looking for a new Endocrinologist and hoped this office would best suit me. I called in and requested to speak to the front as instructed. No one answered. I proceeded to do this one more time before calling billing. (I understand that they are unable to help me schedule.) She was able to transfer my line so I could leave a message.
A week after leaving the message with NO return CALL I called back in. I requested to talk to the front yet again, still NO response. I decided to call billing again since they are the only ones to pick up my call. April was a gem and tried to get me on the line with the scheduler but was unable to do so. She recommended I text in so I could get a response.
I have decided it is for the best if I'm not seen at this office. If you are planning on calling in, you have been warned.
OVERALL: I would recommend you save yourself sometime and call somewhere that schedules you.
NP Kharen Lapoint is fantastic. She is attentive to everything I say and offers solutions and investigates the smallest concern.

Disappointing Shift After Practice Acquisition
I have been a patient of Dr. Hakim since 2019 and originally found her to be a fantastic physician. Unfortunately, since the practice was sold, the quality of care has plummeted. The front desk and MA staff lack basic professional courtesy, and the personalized touch is gone.
Despite my 'complex diagnosis' and my specific request to see Dr. Hakim, she began aggressively pushing me, insisting I see her PA. When I expressed my concerns with prior visits with her PA, I was met with annoyance rather than empathy. The final straw was a late afternoon appointment; despite the fact that I drive over an hour each way and leave work early to be there, Dr. Hakim complained about having to see me at 4:00 PM. She scoffed at the appointment running past 5:00 PM (due to her own 38-minute delay) and again tried to deflect me to the PA.
As a healthcare professional myself, I understand scheduling, but I refuse to be treated as a 15-minute block. I have since moved to a provider who values my time and health.
I gave a 2-star rating as Dr. Hakim is really an incredible provider, but I think she is ready to retire or is being pushed by the overarching healthcare umbrella she is now under.
