Long time member of Gold's Dundalk. I'm old enough to remember the indoor basketball court. This gym has so much potential with the square footage. But what it lacks is an owner with the proper vision to have a successful, top notch gym. One thing you can't say is that the owner is afraid to spend money. He just spends it on things that are a complete waste and don't really improve actually working out. The amount of money he has spent and continues to spend on "renovations" is unreal. Currently there are at least 3 major renovations or remodeling projects going on. Nobody is really quite sure what the end goal is. I have asked numerous employees of the end goal and they all kind of look at you and shake their head. I have spoken to the long time, and very over worked equipment repair guy and his answer was, "the owner has a vision, but nobody really knows what that vision is". The owner clearly has money. But instead of using it to buy new equipment to replace some of the stuff that is easily 20yrs old, he has elected to put two additional roll-up doors in. The ones that are already there get opened about 5 times a year if that. Instead of spreading the equipment out it is all bunched up. The turf area that he spent all that money on years ago has been reduced to a place to pile up a bunch of equipment on. The one corner near the yellow leg press is a death trap with all of the various things just tossed in one area. There is maybe room now for two people at the most to do any sort of actual turf training on, and that is assuming there isn't some sort of personal training blocking it off. There is no flow at all to the gym. Machines just crammed in and tossed wherever. From what I am told, the owner dictates how the gym is set up. Not that the managers would probably know how to do better, but if allowed Matt would probably set the gym up to mirror some of the more successful gyms in the area. The employees try to keep up with straightening up the gym, but its hard for them to keep track with how everything is just tossed wherever. I don't really expect anything to change . The owner usually replies thanking for your concerns and please contact the general manager. Probably just AI reply. A good owner would be in touch with his paying members. He would be providing updates on social media as to what exactly is going on with all of the renovations and what the end goal is. He would be getting feedback as to what the members actually wants instead of what he thinks we want. I can tell you from being there and actually talking to people, WE WANT NEW MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT. We don't want to see you rolling in some old ancient piece of used equipment. We don't care about roll-up doors or pictures all over the walls. That is what you want. We know you have the money. The renovations being done aren't cheap. It's just being spent on all the wrong things. Go take a tour of the other gym over on Pulaski Hwy and see how its set up. See how its managed.

Gym could be great but lately it's been a bit of a mess. Going on 4 months of renovations with no end in sight. Free weights area has been scattered in various separate parts of the gym. Bars/weights always go missing.
