As a person with anxiety when faced with a doctor's appointment, I found Dr. Pham to be extraordinary professional. She possesses an outstanding chair-side manner. Dr. Pham took her time conducting the exam, explaining every step thoroughly, and treating my anxiety and exam outcome with kindness and respect. I could not have hoped for a better experience! Judy, the Team Leader, was also extremely knowledgeable, taking her time while I chose lenses and frames, and carefully broke down the costs and insurance coverage, and so much more. Thank you both for an excellent experience! Recommended 110%

This optometrist reminded me that not everyone in healthcare deserves to work with people.

I’ve never written a review like this before, but my experience at the LensCrafters inside Macy’s at Columbia Mall genuinely broke my trust in the brand. Yesterday, I was told I was 20 minutes late, so I thought, “Alright, I’ll just make sure I’m earlier next time.” I drove an hour straight from work today to get there on time, walked in just before that 20-minute mark, and was told the cutoff was actually 10 minutes. No reminder, no warning, and no compassion. Just a cold, matter-of-fact tone that left me stunned. When I tried to explain, the optometrist passed by, made brief eye contact, and kept walking. There was no warmth, no apology, not even acknowledgment. After spending my time, gas, and energy to get there, I was treated like I didn’t matter. That moment stuck with me more than I expected. I felt small, dismissed, and invisible. Like my effort meant nothing. This wasn’t just bad communication. It was a complete lack of basic empathy. I could have understood if the policy had been clearly communicated or if someone had shown even a hint of kindness. Instead, I left feeling dehumanized. I will never return to this location again, and I sincerely hope management looks at how their policies and tone are impacting real people who are simply trying to take care of their health.

Both employees at the store were super helpful and were able to find me a pair of glasses that I'm very excited about. The optometrist was also helpful and efficient and got me setup with a new script. Highly Recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters at Macy's

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
