Brilliant service; readjusted my frames after I hit them distorting them sitting on my face from straight to diagonal. Now there’re straight and I can see again. Thank you very very much; worth far more than 5 stars.

This was my first time ever being fitted for progressive lenses, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. Mrs. Vinette made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. She took her time, explained everything clearly, and walked me through the process step by step so I understood how progressive lenses work.
She was very patient and precise while taking my measurements, making sure everything was perfectly aligned for my vision. You can really tell she cares about getting it right for her customers.
My glasses were ready for pickup this week, and when I first put them on I literally felt like I could see through walls…lol! The clarity is amazing, and everything feels perfectly fitted.
Excellent service, professionalism, and care. If you’re getting progressive lenses for the first time, I highly recommend asking for Mrs. Vinette at the Bowie Town Center location.

After dealing with a frustrating vision insurance situation, my experience at LensCrafters in Bowie completely restored my faith in customer service.
From the very beginning, Alexa took her time helping me find the perfect pair of shades. She patiently walked me through the process and was honest about my options—even explaining that it would actually be more cost-effective to purchase new frames and fill the prescription without using insurance. I appreciated her transparency and professionalism.
Things got complicated when I enrolled in Humana Vision Plus and ran into issues with my coverage not showing as active. Despite the red tape, every time I came into the store, the team was helpful and willing to look me up in the system without hesitation.
Assistant Manager Lay went above and beyond for me—multiple times. She checked the system more than once, never made me feel like a burden, and stayed positive throughout the entire process. When I called and spoke with Vinny, she didn’t just do a quick search and stop there—she kept digging using different information until she was finally able to locate my active policy. That persistence made all the difference!
When I returned to the store, Lay and I sat down for over an hour going through frames, measurements, and options. She gave honest opinions when I asked, shared laughs with me like we’d known each other for years, and made what had been a stressful process feel easy and enjoyable. The energy in that store is infectious.
Customer service like this is rare these days. The professionalism, patience, and genuine kindness from Alexa, Vinny, and Lay did not go unnoticed. I found the perfect frames, my insurance is finally active, and I’ll absolutely be back to pick up my glasses.
Thank you, LensCrafters Bowie team, for reminding me what great service looks like!

I've been trying to get my lens prescription for a week and the manager, Josue Barias, hasn't called me back. I spoke to him in December when I was trying to reach the doctor who promised to bill me for my 1st pair of lenses before 2026. (The trials were delayed and she offered to do this so that I wouldn't loose the $100 insurance benefit from the prior year). I made several calls that week and neither he nor the doctor called me back then either. I saw him in January when I picked up my trial lenses and he promised to comp the 1st pair of lenses for me because he dropped the ball in December. I just finished my trials and have been calling to finalize my prescription so I can order my lenses and he will not return my call. He is clearly dodging me. I'm guessing he doesn't want to comp the lenses now. I've called every day this week--three or four times a day. I am told that he doesn't get in until 12:30. I call back at 1 and am told he's at lunch at 2 or 3 he's on break--every day this week the guy isn't in yet, is at lunch, or on break. I need his job. He finally answered yesterday when I called from a different number, and said the store was super busy and he would call me back in an hour and now another day has passed with me calling all day to reach him. I paid for this prescription last year. How hard is it to return a phone call? Maybe they need a manager who spends more time in the store.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
