Sam and Seth were fantastic! They went above and beyond to make sure everything was set up perfectly, all while being friendly, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. Their attention to detail and positive attitude made a huge difference. Couldn’t ask for a better experience!

If you're using this company you probably didn't have a choice, but if you have a choice, go somewhere else. They don't give a care if their employees do their job or not and their job is essential for people's health. My dad needs a wheelchair, badly, and he took all the correct steps starting in July. His calls were not returned. They lost the paperwork and had no idea who he was. He went and hand-delivered the paperwork himself (not easy for him) to ensure they don't lose it again. The new employee assigned to start his case canceled the appt, and no one was scheduled in his place. There is no plan B, they don't care. It is now December and I will be filing a complaint with the state's Division of Insurance. People who need wheelchairs can't be without them for 6 months. Obviously the insurance company deserves 1 star too for even sending us here. THIS PART IS FOR THE BOT REPLY I'M ABOUT TO Get BELOW THIS: STOP, YOU'RE EMBARRASSING

I am sending in this experience on behalf of Betty Monahan; We picked up a new wheelchair at the Wilmington branch this morning 12/12/2025. Ed did an excellent job explaining the operation of the wheelchair and all the available adjustments and features. Thank you, Betty Monahan

This experience with National Seating & Mobility was surprising easy and smooth. Typically there is always some type of issue unfortunately.
Tony Evans was very polite and efficient. He adjusted my son’s wheelchair and what seemed like a quick fix. Hoping that solved all the issues we were having with the chair. But truly appreciate his kindness and attention to detail.
Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
