Our Emergency Department experience was good. Let me say that my wife has a chronic illness and we visit emergency rooms at least once a year for the past 10 years. This was probably the best experience that we have had in many years. My wife could not walk and they provided a wheelchair upon request. And when it was time to go, someone from patient transport helped her to the car. There was a short wait, the nurse triage effortlessly inserted IV, and there are two sections of treatment areas. We got these smaller, quieter area. They wasted no time in doing CT and ultrasound scans and trying to treat based on the data they found. My wife’s pain was a 9 on a scale of 10, so they ended up, giving her pain meds to help her rest, which was appreciated. Victoria, our nurse, was very accommodating and helpful. The nurses in emergency have a tough job, but each one of them wants to be there to help people. Given the capabilities of this emergency room, this is a good alternative to going into Boston.

DO NOT GO HERE if you're having a mental health crisis, especially with PTSD or panic disorders. They label you as a purple dot drug seeker.
Very friendly and professional staff.
Nice and clean place.
Less waiting time.

I went to the Emergency Room at MelroseWakefield Hospital on Wednesday, December 17, and I cannot say enough good things about my experience.
I arrived with the flu and significant difficulty breathing, and I was genuinely scared , it truly felt like I wasn’t going to make it. From the moment I walked in, every single person I encountered was exceptional. The receptionist, the triage nurse, the medical provider and Kimberly, the nurse who took care of me, were all incredibly attentive, fast, and compassionate.
Despite how busy the ER was, the entire team worked seamlessly together. Everyone was moving with purpose and coordination honestly, it felt like watching a perfectly timed musical where everyone knew exactly what to do without a word being said. You could tell immediately that they were experienced, confident, and truly knew what they were doing.
I was treated quickly, monitored closely, and cared for with genuine kindness . I am deeply grateful to the entire ER team for their professionalism, teamwork, and compassion. They didn’t just treat my symptoms , they made me feel safe.
Thank you for everything you do. You made a difference, and I will never forget it.

I needed to bring my son to the emergency department. (he's ok) It was one of the best experiences we had. Both ladies in the front checking us in, very polite, Thank you. We only waited (No Waiting) for them to clean triage. The nurse called us in right away. She was very awesome, Thank you. She seated us & the Doctor seen us in that same moment. That was very cool. The staff at Emergency Department was very caring, efficient & professional to us & with my son's needs. That was the quickest ever...
Thank you very much to Staff at the Emergency Department!!!
