I spent Friday night in the ED with an PAINFUL infection and was treated with the upmost respectable staff. From the receptionist, orderly, triage staff, CT staff, security guards and most of all my nurse and PA Casey Elliott. I wish I could remember my nurses name as she never stopped running from patient to patient. Thank you for all you did for me!
I was able to find out the name of my nurse that took care of me last night. Melby, the woman is professional, caring and kind. Thank you Melby! I found out because of confusion regarding my prescriptions. I called the ED Saturday morning and within 5 minutes they straightened everything out!!!

I was saddened to hear the experience my family friend had a few weeks ago. While it is known in the healthcare community that melrose wakefield healthcare is subpar, I had no idea of the apathy and neglect endorsed here. The patient recalled to me that as she was taking a walk, a nurse (we think, she was unable to identify her name but claims that she was tall, obese, caucasian with brunette hair) hears the pager ring for a patient request, rolls her eyes, and says 'I swear to god if it is that girl again'. i am appalled that this is how nurses are speaking about their patients in an open, public patient room. How can patients feel comfortable receiving care when the staff find them a burden?
I also want to share that there were some HIPAA violations and medical documentation errors that made the process much more anxity inducing for the patient. The patient also notes she had a traumatizing experience observing hostile behavior between public safety and her daughter. Why are we putting already distressed patients in even more distress? Why is public safety not trained on working with sensitivity? Why are nurses so okay with falsely accusing patient family of actions they did not engage in? None of it makes sense and I will never receive care nor recommend those in my life to receive care from this hospital.
We are hoping and praying that justice can be served, as we are awaiting response from patient relations.
HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. This hospital had awful behavior and terrible bedside manner. The provider who say my husband was incredibly rude and dismissive of his symptoms the moment they saw him. They were super dismissive of what he was feeling and they kept cutting him off and would not let him finish speaking. This provider seemed as though they hated their job and seemed as though annoyed that we were bothering them with my husbands health issues. They dismissed us within the span of 10 minutes even though the issue and symptoms clearly persisted.DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!!
I recently had a family treated in the emergency room and admitted to the medical floor at Melrose Wakefield Hospital, and I am extremely disappointed with the quality of care provided. There are serious issues with patient privacy and safety standards, along with inconsistencies in medical documentation. More troubling was the lack of communication and compassion from the care team, who repeatedly dismissed questions and concerns from both the patient and family. I kindly requested to speak with a supervisor and the situation immediately escalated inappropriately, leading to an extremely unprofessional interaction.
This hospital had a serious lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic respect for patients and their families. I would not recommend the medical floor based on this experience and hope meaningful improvements are made to prevent others from going through the same experience as mine.
