  We took our 3 year old daughter to get her first pair of glasses. We had no clue what we were doing. Thank goodness for Chandra— it is clear that she has a million years of experience with pediatric optometry! Not only did she thoroughly and patiently explain things to us, she got our child focused and excited about her glasses! She’s amazing and made this experience so fun and enjoyable! Thank you to Chandra, and if anyone out there has a kid who needs glasses— I cannot see why you would take them anywhere else! (Yes that was an intentional vision pun… sorry)

  Dr.Schaefer is an excellent eye doctor and she could facilitate part of the exam in French/Spanish/German for those that English is not their 1st language . She is extremely kind and knows very well her field. Thank you Dr Schaefer ! I will be back

  Been feeling very welcome at Medford Optical. Umberto Rosetti, the optician who's in on Wednesdays--has an almost magical gift getting frames to fit just right! and teaching everything you need to know about how to identify (and thus distinguish/request) lens quality. Also Chandra beautifully rescued my current glasses (purchased elsewhere) when I broke off one whole side. Finally, last week their eye doctor, Dr. Schaefer, performed one of the most patient, thorough exams I've ever had.

  I picked out my frames right away and my glasses were ready in about a week and a half. All costs were out-of-pocket; I paid up front over 200 dollars for a deposit. When I picked them up and looked through them at the store, they seemed okay. However, when I put them on in the car, I didn't like the way the lenses were. They seem like cheap plastic to me; not new innovative plastic, just cheap plastic. I remember that when I picked out the frames, the woman who waited on me never asked if I wanted tinted lenses, a lens coating to make cleaning easier, or anything else. Considering I paid $260 for a pair of plastic frames, I expected the lenses to be higher quality. I'm going to another lens care place and have them replaced with transition lenses. I'm very disappointed in Medford Optical. I remember reading a post from a woman who said the store was small and cramped and she was not being helped. The owner replied that "she must have the wrong store". He obviously just wants to make the review better. It IS very small and cramped, and their frame selection is very small. There were at least 15 people there when I first went there on a Saturday. The only high-end brand I found was L.A.M.B. The others I haven't heard of. Just wanted to set that straight. I seriously think there are some fake 5-star ratings for this place.
