- BPBlake Pomeroy2 days ago5.0I would recommend Bay State Physical Therapy Ipswich for any local PT needs. I had Thomas Melanson as my therapist and what an amazing therapist. He listens, advises, adjusts as needed, and really has your best in mind! I was there for roughly 12 weeks and we built back the flexibility, balance and strength. Keep up the great work!

He gave me exercises to try in the office and used a app to encourage me to continue the exercises at home. I improved quickly and would highly recommend this location! Michaela truly helped me get back to the old me. She made appts feel as if I were doing something fun instead of going to a doctors appt. How long is a PT session?
For your initial evaluation, the appointment will take about 60 minutes. Going forward, your sessions will be about 40 minutes.
How often will I need to see the physical therapist?
Based on the examination and evaluation at your first appointment, your physical therapist will discuss with you your Plan Of Care (POC). This plan (POC) will include prescribed frequency and duration (ex: 3x week for 6 weeks) needed to reach your goals.
What should I expect during my physical therapy treatments?
Our clinic uses an exercise and manual based approach. Generally, your session may begin with hands-on treatment and then you will perform exercises prescribed by the physical therapist. The ratio will vary depending on your condition and where you are in your plan of care (POC).
What credentials do the physical therapists have at the clinic?
All of our physical therapists are Doctors in Physical Therapy (DPT) and are licensed by the state of Massachusetts. Each physical therapist has additional training in specialized areas.
