I get asked all the time, “hey doc, how did the Opioid Crisis get so bad? Honestly, I did not see it coming. As Physicians we were told Opioids can provide safe inexpensive non addictive pain relief. Truth is Opioids are highly addictive and they are dangerous. I have been on a personal mission since 2013 to change the culture of postoperative pain management. I opened the Orthopedic Laser Center, Ortho Lazer, to provide patients a safe alternative to surgery and as a complementary pain reliever post surgery. Cold Laser Therapy is a safe option to treat pain and inflammation. It can be used as an alternative to surgery or to reduce pain after surgery. This is another weapon in the arsenal to combat the Opioid Crisis.
