Dear Quest Diagnostics Team,
I have been a loyal patient at your Carver, Massachusetts location for many years and have always appreciated the service provided for my routine blood work. However, I wanted to share a recent experience that was particularly challenging due to a significant visual impairment I am currently facing.
During my most recent visit, I encountered difficulties with the check-in process because of central blindness affecting my vision, which makes it extremely difficult for me to read screens or printed materials of any size. When I explained my condition to the staff member assisting me, I was repeatedly instructed to use the kiosk and remake my appointment, despite already being in the system. I politely asked if my existing information could be used or if someone could assist me, but unfortunately, no accommodation was offered.
Although I had a family member with me, they were not prepared with reading glasses, as this was my second visit that day after being asked to return following a lunch break. My physician had placed an urgent “ASAP” request on the lab order and had assured me that the center would be able to accommodate me promptly upon arrival.
I experienced considerable distress during this interaction, which ultimately led to a panic attack. I felt that a simple accommodation—such as sitting me down and helping enter my identification and insurance information into the kiosk—would have resolved the situation quickly and compassionately.
I understand that staff members are busy and that procedures are in place for efficiency, but I sincerely hope that in the future, patients with documented disabilities, especially those involving vision impairment, can receive basic assistance when clearly requested. I miss the days when medical facilities had a staffed front desk where individuals could speak directly with a person for support.
Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. I value the important work your laboratory performs and hope this experience can help improve accommodations for patients with disabilities in the future.
If the owner would like to contact me I would very much like to speak to them as well.

What kind of reputable medical facility would close for a half hour in the middle of the work day. Have biohazard signs as soon as you walk in. Only one I’ve seen with these ridiculous hours. Then denies an employer drug screen over an hour to close. Can hear them talking about me through the door and window. And they close at 2pm. Worst quest I’ve been to yet. Besides the Plymouth one which says they’re open but is closed for construction until March.
Best experience one could have with a multiple vial blood drawer. Diana is awsome!
I don't usually leave Google reviews but this Quest location certainly deserves one. I went in for standard lab work and felt at ease the second I walked through the door. My techician was so kind and friendly, and delivered a painless experience. As someone who hates needles, I felt totally relaxed. I was in and out within 10 minutes (with a scheduled appointment). Of course, I'm not gonna run around saying, "I can't wait to get my blood drawn!," but if I ever need lab work, I know where to go. 10/10 recommend!
