I’ve been a regular at PBHSQ for about eight months now but wanted to post a review near the start of the year so that folks considering a new fitness program could be sure to see it. If you’re thinking about trying barre, definitely do it, and especially here! Make no mistake: it is challenging. It will make you sweat. And I for sure look at the clock to see how many minutes are left most of the time! But it is so worth it because of the results. I went from being a pretty competitive athlete to doing no physical exercise at all for most of a decade, and barre was my first foray back. It has been incredible for making me stronger without stressing the joints I wore out when I was younger, and I feel like a new person. The plantar fasciitis I dealt with for a few years disappeared completely within the first six weeks of regular classes. What’s more, the community is warm and affirming while still supporting you challenging yourself, and the instructors are truly top notch. The emphasis on the correct form when you exercise is so valuable - not only does it mean I’m actually getting out of the exercise what I’m meant to get out of it, I’m also not straining my body and hurting myself (a first in my decades of exercise and sports!). Perhaps most importantly, in eight months at PBHSQ, I have not heard one word of negative body talk. No discussion of getting ready for swimsuit season or anything like that - just a focus on everyone getting stronger. It’s so refreshing to a millennial who grew up in toxic diet culture, and I’m so happy to have a community where I can truly take good care of myself in a healthy and supported way. Oh, and for anyone wondering, I’ve seen all ages and sizes at PB! It’s truly for anyone, not just willowy ballerinas in chic athleisure. I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about Jamie and her team, and I’m so grateful for the incredible work they do.

I ❤️ PBHSQ! I’ve taken almost 450 classes here, and I cannot get enough. I leave every workout feeling stronger & empowered. The instructors and staff are so kind and you can tell they really care about every single person in the class! The various formats allow you to get what you really want out of a workout (cardio, high intensity with empower, slow burn with classic, stretching and balance with align, and weight lifting with define). The unlimited membership is definitely the way to go in order to save money on the cost per class.
