  I had a complex MRI scheduled, and was nervous after reading the poor reviews here. The current entrance situation passing the garbage area is a bit sketchy, but most of the Tufts MC campus appears to be in need of maintenance. I was notified when an earlier appointment became available, and wanted to be sure to arrive earlier than that. I was able to get in right away and was out before my original appointment would have started. Everyone from check-in throughout the scan was very knowledgeable and kind. The MRI tube is open and well-ventilated. Earplugs plus ear defenders were provided to dampen the sound, plus the choice of music.

  My Drs office has been faxing the orders for the past week and they do not have them. Triple checked the fax number. When I call, I get a lady with a very heavy accent who just wants to get off the phone ASAP. Going somewhere else.

  Don’t go here. Shields MRI at Tufts decided to schedule my MRI for a Sunday at 8:40am without calling me first to ask if I could make it in or had a preference on when I could come in. When I called the office to ask about this the lady on the phone mentioned that “they didn’t have to call me to ask when or what time I could come in for an MRI” and “that’s not how it’s done.” I’ve had multiple MRI’s, CT scans and plenty of other imaging and different kinds of tests at different hospitals in the last year alone, and they have always called me prior to scheduling me to ask when it was best for me to come in. I am also aware that I am not the first patient who has been scheduled by them without calling the actual patient first to confirm availability. Clearly whoever is scheduling patients does not care to check in with them first before putting them in the schedule for whatever day and time they assumed they might be able to come in. Healthcare should not be this careless.

  They squeezed me in when my appointment somehow got canceled and everyone was so professional and comforting!
