Told the front desk I was new and would need help figuring out how to clip in and use the bike, and she said there would be people inside to help me. There was no one inside to help me, so she lied. I struggled to clip in for about ten minutes until I finally figured it out, and no one helped. During the class, the instructor kept talking about how this is a community and the people around you have your back, but that's obviously false. No one cared that I was new and unsure how to use the equipment, no one welcomed me and showed me the ropes, despite me asking for it. It's also very loud in there and hard to hear what the instructor was saying. At times, he'd play a slower song and not give any guidance, so I assumed it was a slower section for us to catch our breath, but then I realized everyone was still pedaling really fast. Overall a good workout because I pushed myself even though I couldn't understand what they were saying or at times they didn't say anything, but a very confusing, chaotic, and off-putting experience. If this is how they welcome new people, I'm not sure why anyone comes back.

This was my first time at SoulCycle, and I made that clear as soon as I arrived. No one checked in or helped me set up my bike before the class started. For more than half of the workout, neither of my feet were hooked into the pedals! I eventually managed to clip my right foot midway through, but my left foot would not clip in no matter what I tried. I didn’t know how to stop the bike in the dark, who to ask for help, or what I was supposed to do at that point. Both of my feet kept slipping off — imagine how fast the bike is going and it repeatedly hitting you in the legs. Over and over again, I kept trying to get my feet back on the pedals at that speed. During the weights portion, I kept trying to fix the issue on my left foot, and the instructor finally noticed near the end of class and tried to help. Mind you, I was in the second row. Even he had trouble getting my left foot clipped in. It was clear the left pedal was defective! It was not only embarrassing — especially with people staring — but also extremely dangerous. As a first-time rider, this was a very stressful, disappointing, and unsafe experience. I do not recommend and would not be returning.

Sorry I have to give this a three star, only because the instructor we had was very rude. Aly had an issue with us doing alternative exercise’s during her class. I understand safety is the reason why, but no one had asked us in the beginning if we have any health issues. Not even the instructor. She came across very unprofessional and defensive, when I told her about my health issues. Her playlist was awesome. Class however wasn’t enjoyable with her teaching.
Another thing we could have smart watches with lights going on and off, but cannot have phones with the lights going on and off.

My instructor failed to show for my 6am class. The front desk staff were able to rebook me for the following day.
