Best experience I have ever had at the doctors. Vladimir was the best, and really cares about his patients. He makes sure everyone feels comfortable and calm. I am very lucky to start my primary care with him.

I’ve had the best primary care experience at Carbon Health. I’ve never felt so un-judged and comfortable with a primary care provider as I have with Vlad. The nurses and support staff are also really lovely. And bonus, I’ve never had to wait long in the office, which I can’t necessarily say about other doctors’ offices. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This urgent care is very well run, clean, organized , and staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have several examining rooms and i believe an imaging machine too . I made an appt online , changed time several times online , no problem. Staff were thorough and ran multiple tests for me . App is easy and convenient too. Glad to have them in my neighborhood .

Update 2/11/2026: At my original visit, I was concerned about an ear infection and was diagnosed with TMJ and prescribed a muscle relaxer and naproxen. When my symptoms did not improve, I attempted to schedule the follow-up as instructed, but my appointment was canceled due to insurance verification issues despite my willingness to pay out of pocket.
I only received a response from Carbon Health after multiple follow-up attempts over several weeks. The explanation provided was that Massachusetts locations operate under different internal billing policies.
I sought care at different urgent care, where I was diagnosed with a severe ear infection and treated appropriately. My symptoms resolved, my hearing is restored, and I saved approximately $150 compared to what two visits here would have cost.
If this location advises you to seek care elsewhere, I would recommend considering that option.
Initial review 1/27/2026: At my initial visit on 1/18, I had just moved to Boston and did not yet have insurance. I signed a Good Faith Estimate, and the paperwork referred to me as an “uninsured or self-pay” individual. Combined with Carbon Health’s website stating that if insurance cannot be verified a patient may proceed as self-pay (with insurance billed later as a courtesy), I reasonably believed this would remain an option.
At my follow-up visit on 1/27, because I was in pain and wanted to be transparent, I explained that my husband’s work was in the process of arranging my insurance, but he was unavailable to confirm whether coverage was active. I offered to pay out of pocket to be seen, as confirmation of coverage could take hours or days. I was told in person and later over the phone by the same staff member that I would need to reschedule once insurance was confirmed or seek care elsewhere. When I stated that I would not use insurance and would instead pay fully out of pocket, they insisted they would not conduct my follow-up without insurance information if coverage was active.
When I asked why, I was told that seeing me could put the office at risk for penalties or fines, put the staff member’s job at risk, and that I personally could risk being dropped from my health insurance for proceeding as self-pay instead of billing insurance. They also stated that, as a private practice, they are not obligated to follow federal guidelines for self-pay. The office manager was present and confirmed this information. I was also told over the phone that the website language allowing self-pay when insurance cannot be verified is outdated and does not reflect newer internal policies for 2026.
This explanation was confusing and alarming. I later contacted another Carbon Health location in Boston, which explained the policy more clearly: that proceeding as self-pay when insurance may be active can create internal billing conflicts for the company and potentially result in significantly higher costs for the patient. Importantly, this was described as a company-specific billing issue, not a situation where a patient would risk losing insurance coverage.
What remains distressing is the contradiction between the information provided at the first location, the explanation from another Carbon Health location, the website language, and the Good Faith Estimate paperwork referring to “uninsured or self-pay.” These materials suggest patient choice when, in practice, patients cannot opt for self-pay if insurance may exist. If this policy carries such significant implications, it should be clearly and consistently communicated upfront and accurately reflected online. Particularly in an urgent care setting where care is time-sensitive.
