If you’re there for neurology, find someone else. They are impossible to get in touch with and don’t respond to messages. I’ve been waiting on an MRI for 3 months because of this. Don’t try to speak with anyone in the clinic, because you can’t. And there’s a portal where you can send a message, but you won’t get a response. It’s beyond infuriating.

Today I visited the the Primary Care Center. The front desk workers and provider were above average, BUT I had the BEST experience with Vina, a lab technician (I believe). We finished with the doctor at 11:55AM, but Vina still got us in before her lunch break at 12:00PM. She was quick, friendly, and professional. Specifically, Vina found my mother’s blood vein within 1.5 mins (if that) and required only one stick. My mother has VERY small veins due to various health conditions, and she frequently visits university (>10 appts/month). I have NEVER EVER seen her get stuck in less than 3 tries. They usually require 2-3 people to find her vein, so this was record breaking. I was immensely impressed, and University Medical Center would benefit if all nurses as lab technician had the skillset that Vina demonstrated today. Vina could lead trainings and initiatives. 10/10 experience

The Dr’s and RN are great but when you have to deal with managers you find that you are in charity system “no common sense” “do not go here” if you have an elective surgery Go anywhere but UMC. The day after my surgery they required my wife to go home, a manager came to my room and argued with me while I lay in my bed trying to recover, arguing that COVID was why she could not stay but look of the photo’s they are having a party in the lobby, “Rules for me not for thee”
