My primary care dr had me to come to the emergency room and her staff brought me to the emergency room. She said that she was going to call them to tell them about me. She said 5 hours and I will be back home. And the lie detector detected that that was a lie needless to say, i'm still here. And won't be leaving until maybe tuesday. Or wednesday. I'm not happy about it but it is what it is. I told her that I didn't want to go to the emergency room because I knew that I was going to be in the ER for a minute but she said that I wouldn't be in there too long. Needless to say I'm still here. Can't wait to see her so I can have words with her.

Everything was great at university of Medical Center, including Taylor, Dr. Cook and the entire staff except for the front desk agent. She's always rude and disrespectful and makes me feel as if we shouldn't be came today. Overall, the hospital was the front desk representative. She definitely needs some coaching on customer service and how to have an understanding it'll make anyone if they're not wanting to appreciated
If your loved one has a complex medical condition, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. My mother traveled thousands of miles to receive specialized care at University Medical Center New Orleans (LCMC Health), but what she experienced on T2 Floor 5 was a catastrophic systemic failure in basic nursing, communication, and patient safety.
While her admitting specialist was great, the floor nursing staff routinely ignored and actively argued against the attending physician's charted orders for scheduled pain medication. Nurses openly admitted they withhold medication out of "fear of losing their licenses," which left my mother enduring preventable, agonizing 10/10 nerve pain for hours on end.
The lack of basic medical oversight was terrifying. We had to catch a massive medication error ourselves: doctors ordered 500mg of a life-critical IV vitamin 3x a day, but the staff only administered 200mg once a day for nearly a week. We also witnessed severe infection control breaches, including a nurse dragging an open TPN IV port on the floor before attempting to connect it to my mother's central line, and a PICC line that was left unsecured until it migrated.
Worse, there was outright mistreatment. A night aide physically mishandled my mother’s highly sensitive allodynic feet and verbally threatened her, and a neurology trainee actually laughed and mocked her when he caused her severe pain during an exam. To top it off, we documented massive HIPAA violations where nurses left their computers logged in and unattended in the room for 30+ minutes, exposing the sensitive medical data of every single patient on the entire floor.
Unfortunately, the few good staff members we did experience cannot make up for the dangerous, systemic negligence we experienced from the rest of the unit. We plan to file a massive formal grievance. Please advocate fiercely for your family members if they end up here, they will need it.

My experience was not very pleasant. I was scheduled for a colonoscopy on March 10th but received 2 calls behind each other that morning which I missed. I called back and got no answer. I called twice and then called the main hospital line twice and got no answer. I followed the procedure and preparation.the night before. My doctor and other medical staff assured me I would get a call the morning of the procedure. I went in the next day and found I was removed from the list because I didn’t answer the call. It was stated they called me many times and left many texts. Not true.!! I was called twice with no text at all. But the horrific part is no answer when I called back 4 times. I can accept that but I can’t accept being rejected and told to reschedule the appointment. I was up all night preparing. I am almost 70 years old and should not have been told to reschedule, especially when it wasn’t my fault of not being able to speak with someone. I had to disrupt someone’s schedule because an adequate time wasn’t given to prepare them to drive me. I don’t feel I was cared for like a nurturing hospital should have done for optimum health procedures concerning a patient. My name is ms Williams and I am seeking health care that cares.
