  Do NOT bring your child here. This is my second experience with a misdiagnosis. Last night my husband brought our 3 year old for wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest contractions accompanied by fast breathing. Tested for flu, covid, and rsv, all negative. Dr. Ali Ozcan diagnosed my child with croup. I am a mom of 4 and have dealt with croup multiple times. I told my husband to request a chest xray as I didn’t believe this was croup. Dr. Ozcan responded with “he has croup but if you want to expose him to unnecessary radiation that’s on you”. So anyways, we proceeded with the chest xray. We were told the chest xray was clear, and that he most likely has croup. When I read the results it showed he was clear of pneumonia but he had signs of bronchiolitis. My son was discharged with a steroid and wasn’t given a breathing treatment. Proceed to today, I took my son to his pediatrician. She was able to tell on the xray that he did NOT have croup, and showed signs of bronchiolitis, and respiratory airway disease. He also was wheezing so bad, that she did an albuterol treatment in the hospital and prescribed us to do it until Sunday, and get checked again on Monday. He also texted positive for strep which they didn’t test him for. The negligence of this doctor could’ve seriously caused harm to my child had I not followed my gut and got him checked up on today. Thank goodness I’m knowledgeable in the medical field to an extent and knew that my child was misdiagnosed. This is the second time this has happened at this location. 2 years ago my same child was told he was septic. We were transferred to children’s main campus and it was discovered that his blood test was contaminated at CHEDM and that he wasn’t septic, he just had an ear infection and a virus. I will never step foot in here again, and I hope my comment is read by fellow parents and they can steer clear of this place. I will be filing a complaint with the LDH.

  Great facility! Seen quickly and all of the nurses and providers were so kind and helpful. We love Manning Family Children’s Metairie!

  Bad, horrible, sad! I will never go back. These people don’t even know how to flush ears 👂🏾 my daughter was in pain when she went and still is in pain. They were trying to send us home with out doing nothing and wanted me to give her ibuprofen or Tylenol for an ear infection like the problem would go away. I asked for the flush because it helped me when I had an ear infection. When they flushed, nothing came out. Her ear was still full of wax and an infection. The only thing was flushed was her hair and clothes! Now I have to go somewhere else for them to help her 🥺

  Brought my son back over here cause he wouldn’t take his medicine from going on a Monday it’s now Thursday and got told that a kid doesn’t need medicine the flu will work it’s corse and the flu medicine does nothing will not recommend to anyone will not go back

  I’ve been telling everybody about the experience I had at this emergency room. It was the absolute worst. They will lie in clinical notes. They’re not helpful. Everybody attitude is just horrible. The best experience I had when it comes to my kids and sending them to an emergency room is going to Ochsner. THE BEST!
