- MPMegan PellerinAug 4, 20233.0I wanted to give this company 1 star. But solely based on Angel and Angie being completely helpful when they do answer the phone is the only reason i give 3 stars. It took 3 months for someone to even come and Evaluate. That was after calls explaining his current chair was a safety hazard. It took another 4 months to submit it to insurnace. During this process paper were faxed to wrong numbers. Phone calls not answered. Messages left begging for help with never a returned call. My son has been without a useful mobility device for a long time. And I felt like no one cared. But what I did realize when researching this company that they are not BBB accredited. And have hundreds of complaints with the same issues as me. At nationwide locations. This company oblivious is understaffed. Leaving these people with a workload to large for them to have time to care even if they want to. Action Rehab is another option. Honestly I would seek out any other company to process you claim for mobility devices. National Seating and Mobility treat your employees better. So they have what they need to do a good job and care for the fragile and special needs community who needs your service to function as it should. Thank you Angel and Angie for helping when you were able to!

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
