I recently had an appointment with a panel of healthcare professionals, and my overall experience was a mixed bag. While two members of the team, my dietitian Chris and nurse Lisa, were incredibly helpful and supportive, my encounter with the therapist, Stephanie, left much to be desired.
Firstly, I want to express my gratitude towards Chris and Lisa, who were attentive, compassionate, and genuinely concerned about my well-being. They made me feel heard and valued throughout the appointment.
However, my experience with Stephanie was quite the opposite. From the moment she entered the room, her behavior was concerning. She seemed preoccupied with her phone, giving me a dismissive hello and responding to personal texts during our session. This immediately set the tone for an unprofessional encounter.
Stephanie's approach to our conversation was also problematic. She asked confusing questions and appeared impatient with my responses. When I attempted to provide information that was supported by the materials displayed on the information board behind me, she dismissed my input. Instead of engaging in a productive discussion, she made me feel as though I was in a classroom, giving wrong answers. This belittling attitude was both unhelpful and disheartening.
In light of my experience with Stephanie, I'm left questioning whether she should be a part of any healthcare team. Her unprofessional conduct made me consider seeking assistance elsewhere, as I believe that healthcare professionals should create an environment where patients feel respected and heard.
In conclusion, my visit to this healthcare facility was a mixed experience due to the stark contrast between the excellent care provided by Chris and Lisa and the unprofessional behavior exhibited by Stephanie. I hope that my feedback can lead to improvements in the quality of care provided and ensure that patients are treated with the respect and empathy they deserve.
