Reading the negative reviews and I suspect some folks don’t have much experience with neurological headache clinics. I’ve had migraines for 30 years and sought neurological management when I began to have neurological features 25 years ago. My first neurological visit was a disaster but her nurse referred me to another neurologist in Louisville who listened and did extensive assessments. We moved to Chicago. I had two neurologists during the first 5 years then my PCP referred me to a neurovascular specialist who had just expanded his practice to include headache. He was my neurologist for 14 years. No miracle cures, but he took my concerns seriously and partnered with me in managing my condition. We moved back to Louisville in 2022. My Chicago neuro was retiring and the drive to see him every 3 months was too much for me. I saw Dr Herrera for the first time in November 2025. He asked really pertinent questions and really listened to my answers. I felt respect and concern from him. He is also up to date on evidence based clinical guidelines for migraine management so I felt an equal respect for him. They have already worked me in for an urgent appointment related to new symptoms and I have had my first Botox appointment. I called the number the clinic gave me and I have an estimate for my copay. I would not hesitate to recommend this physician and clinic.
My experience with Dr. Herrera was disappointing and unprofessional. From the start, he approached the visit with negative assumptions that had no basis in fact. He was microaggressive and dismissive, seemingly because I had switched providers. He also assumed I had an issue with his colleague, which I never stated or implied.
During the appointment, he made a blatantly ignorant and unnecessary comment, which was both uncomfortable and inappropriate in a medical setting. While he eventually apologized and acknowledged that he knew I was experiencing trigeminal neuralgia pain before even entering the exam room, the damage to the patient–doctor trust was already done.
I left feeling unheard, judged, and disrespected — which is the last thing anyone should experience when seeking neurological care. I will not be returning and do not recommend him based on my experience.

My doctor is great but the billing department is fraudulent. I’m so disheartened by this experience, especially after being in so much pain and stress already. I received one botox treatment for cervical Dystonia, the bill was $8200. After contacting the billing department, I was informed that they billed me for 200 units of botox even though only 120 units were injected. I was charged for the 80 units of “wastage” without any knowledge of it. I feel like I was truly taken advantage of. I contacted a billing specialist via phone, as well as discussing in MyChart Messages with another billing support specialist. I’m being told “We’ve reviewed the charges and they are correct”. That’s all they said. They’re unable to justify a wastage charge and want me to just accept the charge. It’s completely fraudulent to bill someone for “wastage” without their knowledge. I went in thinking I would be billed for the 120 units they injected. I was not given an option to accept the charge or decrease the # of units, which I would’ve preferred in order to avoid wasting something I paid for. I will be doing everything in my power to get these charges corrected. In the meantime, I do not encourage anyone to use Norton Neuroscience Institute Headache Center, unless you want ripped off and overcharged.
Was basically given a physical and was charged 500. People were nice, but 500 when i was there for less then an hour is absolutely crazy, if your having migraines, guess what; its a disease. Live with. They can give you meds but they dont work. Insurance kicked in, i owed 300. 300 for what? I asked for a itemized list, they said all they can show me is that i was there and thats why its 500. I canceled all future appointments. In this economy yall think people just have money to throw out like that? Especially when you DIDNT DO ANYTHING!! I hope you lose your favorite shirt, i hope your dog has an upset tummy and you take him to the vet, they charge you 1200 to say let him rest and i hope your lunch order is wrong when you were excited for it.

I saw Dr. Rhyne today after suffering with migraines for 40 years or more. I learned more in the first 15 minutes than I have in my entire life! After we met and created a plan, I almost cried. I thought my life was going to be one with migraines in it forever, but I am so hopeful now that that will not be the case.
