Overall, we had a wonderful experience until we were taken into the room where a nurse assistant staff member under Amanda Owens was responsible for pricking my daughter’s finger for a test. My daughter, is very afraid of needles, and unfortunately the assistant handling the situation did not show much patience or understanding toward younger children. While holding my daughter’s hand to prick her finger, she bluntly said that she was “not going to fight with her.” That comment was very upsetting and not helpful in calming a scared child. I politely asked the assistant to pause so I could calm my daughter down. I then removed my 11-year-old and 6-year-old from the room because the situation was becoming uncomfortable. As a mother, my priority is always protecting my children, and in that moment I felt stepping away was the best decision. Even when someone is rude or lacks patience, I believe it’s important to remain respectful and set a better example for our children. I simply hope the staff receives more training in working with young children who are scared or anxious during medical procedures.

When I was at Norton, I had a good first experience, then I brought my son in because I thought he had hand foot mouth, disease, so his doctor made a false report of allegations that were untrue. Honestly, would not recommend Norton children’s. Because I tried to go back after the allegations were made, and the staff began to treat me very horribly like I was criminal, I didn’t appreciate the hostile environment, Stephanie was the one who made the false accusation, every time I took my son to see her she never really checked him out thoroughly, she would only ask me questions and half the time she didn’t even check out my son. Needless to say Norton likes to charge the insurance card as much as possible it’s not that they actually care about the kids. They’re taken care of it’s about the money.

Same issue with scheduling. I called 4 times and sent in my children's medical records. They never notified me they got them. They said there weren’t enough pages to get scheduled. What? The reception and intake process is just an incompetent mess. Why would you need to even review medical records in order to take a new patient? Would you turn a patient away if they had a disability or something in the chart undesirable? It seems like they discriminate and pick and choose their patients.

Took my daughter here for a cough and they recommended her to stand in a bathroom with a hot shower running to breath in the steam instead of prescribing her any medication. This was about 2 weeks ago and she still has a cough.

I absolutely love this doctor office! Dr Kelty is so passionate about her job and the kids! She is amazing! The lady at the front desk with the curly hair I think her name is Angela, is the bomb dot com! If you ever need anything updated in your chart she only has to do it just one time and it’s right!! Only complain is the lady with the dark hair, not very patient and doesn’t seem to know how to really help with anything in the files
