  I worked here for a little over a year and had a very frustrating experience. Hours were extremely inconsistent—some weeks I had full-time hours, while others dropped to as little as 10–15. They would cut hours over phone use, even when it was required for the job and necessary for client interaction. There were also days where I was expected to be on call all day without being paid. When concerns were brought up, nothing was ever addressed or resolved. Meanwhile, clients were charged excessive amounts, clearly taking advantage of the fact that they would likely pay it. Management expected employees to always be available, but when you needed to reach them, they were rarely responsive. Reviews and follow-ups took an unreasonable amount of time. I was even written up two weeks after calling off—four hours before my shift via email—for “unprofessional behavior,” despite there being no clear policy stating that wasn’t sufficient notice. Training was also inconsistent. At times, I was expected to work shifts without fully understanding care plans or proper safety procedures, which is unacceptable in this type of work. Overall, there was a serious lack of communication, consistency, and support for employees.

  This company is great. They have been responsive, dependable and trustworthy with their care. Tara is awesome and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better to help my grandparents!

  We are so thankful to have made the connection with Home Instead! My husband is 80 yrs old and has Parkinson's disease, which makes it hard for him to care for himself while I (60 yrs old) am at work during the day. Home Instead to the rescue! They are professional and yet personable. My husband loves it when they come. They fix his meals and visit with him about his various interests and collections. In addition to caring for him, they do laundry, and clean around the house for me. They even feed the dog! They leave a note each time they come, letting me know what went on during the day, and if there were any issues. We went to another service in town for a couple of weeks. We changed because the other company was less expensive and we are paying from our own pocket. Let me tell you, it only took a week for us to tell that the extra cost was absolutely worth it! Home Instead caregivers are more mature, more professional and dependable. They are very caring and kind. We are so thankful for their services, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for in-home care.
