I will never return to this location. The phlebotomist who was assigned to me was incredibly condescending and unprofessional. The appointment ran much longer than I anticipated because he would not stop lecturing me and complaining about the poor health of Americans as a whole. When he asked if I had consumed enough water, I replied that I had tried, which led to the first lecture about how I needed to drink more water. When I informed him that I was on pace for my water intake level for the day, he talked right past me for several minutes about how it was clear I was not drinking enough water and that Americans hate water. He went on to critique my diet by making assumptions about how I ate rather than asking me about my diet (even though this had no relation to the blood draw he was supposed to be executing.) He began his second tirade about how unhealthy Americans eat, emphasizing the lack of organic food and the levels of steroid and antibiotics in meat. He said that when we eat meat full of steroids, it causes us to gain weight while gesturing at my body. I cannot stress enough that I never once asked for his opinion on my weight or my eating habits. Finally, he discussed the importance of exercising. At this point, hoping to stop his endless lecturing, I informed him that I do not eat meat, I do get outside, and I weight train three days a week (even though NONE of this was relevant to why I was there), he informed me that by looking at me he could tell I was not working out enough. I did not feel like I could be more firm in confronting him about the inappropriate nature of the conversation as I was still waiting for the testing that I had come for in the first place. This man has never met me, is not my doctor, and is completely unfamiliar with the medical journey I have been on in the past few months. While I'm sure in his mind he was being helpful, he was incredibly condescending and made it clear he was uninterested in anything I had to say. If this is the way this man routinely treats his patients, then that is a huge red flag.

I have had to do quarterly blood draws for more than a decade now due to medication I take. Over the years I’ve gone to several different labs. This Quest is always super easy to get in to, I never wait more than five minutes (with an appointment), and the phlebotomists are well trained and able to get my vein no problem. The store is clean and well kept. The only complaint I have is the parking lot. It is a nightmare. My car nearly disappeared into one of the “potholes”. Potholes is in quotes because they’re so damn big, it’s more like a sinkhole! Beware!!

When the phlebotomist came to get me in the waiting room she called my name. She didn't say anything else to me except for "hold this." Meaning she wanted me to hold the cotton after she had drawn blood. After hold this she said "we're done.: She didn't ask me who I was when I sat down. She didn't ask me why I was there or tell me what was going to be done. She didn't have me confirm the stickers and as a matter of fact she didn't put the stickers on the tubes until after she had drawn the blood. And she did not have me sign my name on the black pad. I've never seen her before at that location and I've been going to that location for a while, but either she was not having a good day or she's just not a people person. She probably needs to be behind the scenes. 75th St at Georgetown Medical Bldg. Overland Park, Kansas.
