I was referred to this office by my primary care provider. Normally I do not write reviews or complaints, but my experience today was extremely concerning.
When I arrived, the receptionist was kind and helpful while checking me in. However, the interaction with the nurse was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. When she called my name, I stood in front of her for about 30 seconds before she even acknowledged I was there. She never looked up or greeted me, and I had to be the first one to speak before she escorted me to the exam room.
Once in the room, she instructed me to sit in the chair and remove my socks and shoes. She began asking questions but did not clearly explain the process or give me the opportunity to ask questions. At one point, she took a photo of my face without asking for consent or explaining why it was being taken. She simply held the camera up to my face without warning.
Throughout the visit, communication was very poor. I felt spoken to in a dismissive and condescending manner, as if I did not understand basic instructions. No one took the time to explain the visit, introduce themselves properly, or ensure I understood what was happening. As someone who also works in the healthcare field, I understand how demanding the profession can be. However, compassion, communication, and respect should always be part of patient care.
After the doctor left the room, I was unsure who he even was because no proper introduction was given. A nurse later returned and simply asked if the doctor had been in the room and then said I was “good to go.” This lack of communication between staff was concerning.
When I checked out, the receptionist asked if I needed to schedule a follow-up appointment. I explained that the doctor said he wanted to see me again in a couple of weeks, but the receptionist could not even clearly tell me the doctor’s name.
Overall, I left feeling uncomfortable and disappointed with the level of professionalism and communication I experienced. Patients deserve to be treated with respect, clear communication, and basic compassion. Unfortunately, that was not my experience during this visit.
