Dr. Everhart spends the proper time with the patient, unlike other physicians — with the concept of the “proper time” meaning “no predefined arbitrated amount of time, per se — but rather, the amount of time the patient ends up needing to spend, to cover and understand everything involved.” He doesn’t ignore any given statement. Dr. Everhart gives the attention and dedication to the patient’s concerns, without ever ignoring or dismissing patient issues based on acute perception of severity (like other doctors tend to do…and that makes no sense to do, when presented issues involving pain and weakness that gets worse with time, as opposed to immediate spikes in pain).
He goes through the technical nature as much as the patient wants to — and it was amazing to be shown and presented the X-Rays, while Dr. Everhart scanned through the entire 3d model of the problematic region, pointing out and discussing each diagnosis, as well as discussing how to discern where there is a diagnosis (“this is what it should look like, and this is what it looks like in you”).
I love this doctor so much. I am so grateful for being able to receive the proper treatment from Dr Everhart…after a lifetime of seeing so many forms of dismissal from so many different doctors in this country, most of whom diminish issues without consideration for how crippling they can become for the patient (something to which the rest of Americans can highly relate, as the phenomenon of dismissal from other doctors is so common, it’s sick to see). Dr. Everhart not only views and hears the presentation of the patient, but he also truly sees and listens to them, with compassion, drive, and utmost professional expertise.
I love that he doesn’t spite me for discussing the nature of the medical technicalities involved, but instead, appreciates my input as well as expanding upon it and clarifying if and when needed.
Never cuts me off.
Makes sure he gets the complete picture.
Doesn’t ignore or even casually miss a single aspect of my paradigm presented before him, from the backstory up until current presentation.
Takes medicine as seriously as it should be taken.
Doesn’t sit on a high horse, despite being incredibly knowledgeable (really rare).
Could be not only a teacher of his specialization in the medical field, but also a benchmark model of proper patient treatment / above & beyond bedside manner (and I would not be surprised if he is a teacher of such, in one way or another — and if he isn’t, I have a feeling someday he will become a professor teaching medicine…or, have very blessed interns / residents who get to learn from him before becoming doctors, themselves).
He is one of the very few (VERY…few) doctors I’ve ever met, who provide medical care in the way it should be provided, and goes above and beyond to ensure he misses nothing and covers everything.
I love this guy. I trust him with my life…as I should. After all, every patient of their surgeon must trust their surgeon with their life, as it will eventually be in the hands of the surgeon, in one way or another. And…surgery is a controlled trauma, so it’s nothing to throw around blind trust about, whatsoever.
I am already referring friends with pelvic area issues to him, so that he can give them the attention and dedication that he gave me, to a degree that is deserved by all patients of America’s current healthcare system (also known as “all desperate people at the hands of rare luck, with unlikely and tremendously generous mercy”), especially those who have been turned away themselves (with a “deal with it because it’s not like you’re an athlete or anything” attitude — and yes, I was actually told that by another doctor for the same multiple issues), or those who have had their presentation of issues go diminished, or become lost on deaf (unwilling) ears by other doctors.
This doctor, Dr. Everhart, is a modest hero…worth every single good word shared by all who have had the privilege of being able to review his performance.
Never fear this guy; just take his help
(without ‘taking it for granted’).
