Very very poor communication skills. My doctor had to send a fax over FOUR times before they responded. Then they call me at 8am but don't leave a message. When I call then back I say, I'm here to schedule an appointment for an emt. The lady on the phone says "you're already scheduled" and wanted to hang. She up said, "please stay on the line for a brief survey." I said no I need to know when and where because I did not receive a voice mail. She finally told me that I have an appointment 7 months down the road at a location 40 Mi away from my home. I understand they are extra busy Due to Eskenazi being incompetent but I am going to look for another hospital.

Worst doctor I have ever encountered. He does not care about your time or you as a patient.

I was first sent to Dr Gordon Mao on August 30th, he had an emergency, so I sat in my truck awaiting his return for 2 hours, upon his return, he saw me for 1 minutes, and blew me off saying there was no way what I described could be true. And left. He then ordered a second set of MRI/ X-rays. After waiting more than a week for appointment for said tests, I was scheduled to see him at 1250 on Tuesday the 9th, I received a phone call to see if I could arrive at 11, due to another emergency at the hospital. Which I promptly did,, upon arrival I was sent to exam room waiting for his arrival. I say in this room, the staff forgot I was in the room shutting off the lights. I came out at 12 asking where Dr mao was, they said he had an emergency, which I was aware of and why I showed up at 11. They forgot about me. I left, I was not happy having taken off work for the 3rd time to see him. He called after I was on my way home, I was driving and he wanted to discuss my issues...while I was on my way home. This is totally unprofessional, the way I was treated. If a patient doesn't show up we get dropped. This Dr. Did not listen to me, would not listen to me..saying I was wrong, I know my body better than a man I just met. I can not believe they forgot I was there! Totally unprofessional, I have asked for a different doctor. I refuse to see this man. I have use 3 vacation days to resolve this issue. And have gotten no where. I am tempted to pursue legal action due to his negligence. I have been dealing with this for more than 7 months. And have gone through 3 MRIs and X-rays at my and insurances expense. Let alone time off of work. I do not recommend him to anyone. Regardless of his previous reviews. I am pursuing a new doctor, who doesn't have the bedside manner like his, he straight up just called me a liar. His staff forgetting me in the room also what the hell. I went through nerve tests 3 sets of MRI/X-rays and left in a room twice. This is ridiculous and unprofessional. What a joke.

I am writing this so that other people can get the care they deserve in a timely manner and do not have to be left wondering if they will get the surgery they need that could help them. At first IU methodist was communicative then it's been a month and a half now and I have heard nothing back after reaching out multiple times. I was due to get surgery but they quit responding even after I did everything they asked. My pain and discomfort from my issues in my neck and back got worse so i was able to go with another hospital to help me and I'm very glad I did. they are professional, and get back to you within the week or so, attentive and listen to patients needs everything that I wished I would have received at methodist.
