The lab office has several iPad kiosks for self-registering, which is quick and easy. There is a screen that displays where you are in the queue. I was quoted a 10-25 minute wait that ended up only being about 5, which was awesome. These people are organized and efficient.
The nurse I had was super sweet and professional. She asked me questions while she was getting ready, which kept me distracted, and I barely noticed that she was about to stick the needle in my arm. When she did, it was probably the most comfortably situated needle of all time—I usually feel it a little bit while it’s in there, but I couldn’t even tell it was there. I swear, in like 15 seconds or less, she had already taken 3 vials of blood and it was over. I tend to get a little woozy if I have blood drawn on an empty stomach, and she was right there with water and graham crackers.
As someone who gets increasingly nervous for medical appointments as I age, I can honestly say that I’ve never been more comfortable having my blood drawn, and I will have zero anxiety in the future as long as I’m going to this lab for bloodwork.
Cannot recommend enough.
