I have been a patient for about 7 years now. I find it very easy to get an appointment when requested and never sit in the waiting room more than a few minutes. Very professional group. I have never had any problems with billing or treatment. I refer everyone I know to them, and that speaks loudly.
You should always use hearing protection when engaging in high-noise recreational activities or work. These activities may include hunting, music concerts, motor sports, and/or construction. Noise-induced hearing loss can result from prolonged exposure to noise or a single, extremely loud event. The louder the sound, the quicker it can cause damage. If you notice ringing in your ears or temporary hearing loss after a loud noise exposure, the environment was too noisy and could be harmful. If that ringing or temporary hearing loss is persistent, it would be a good idea to contact us for a hearing evaluation.
Should I get my hearing tested?
If you suspect that you or a loved one may be experiencing hearing loss, it’s recommended that you seek help sooner rather than later. Hearing loss tends to develop gradually and is often noticeable to close friends and family well before the affected individual realizes it. Identifying and treating hearing loss promptly is crucial. Ignoring it could lead to significant long-term effects, such as increased risk of depression and dementia.
How much does a hearing test cost?
At AudioNova Indianapolis, hearing tests are offered FREE of charge.
Does Medicaid cover hearing aids?
Yes, Medicaid provides coverage for hearing aids in over half of the U.S. states, although the extent of coverage can vary by state. This coverage typically includes the hearing aids themselves, along with necessary services such as audiological assessments, maintenance, and accessories like batteries. Checking with your state's Medicaid program or speaking with an AudioNova insurance specialist can provide specific information on the coverage available to you.
Which Medicare Advantage plans cover hearing aids?
Some Medicare Advantage plans, also known as Part C, include additional benefits not offered by Original Medicare, such as coverage for hearing aids. Coverage can vary greatly between plans, so it's important to review each plan's benefits closely or consult with an AudioNova expert to find a plan that meets your hearing health needs.
Will my insurance plan cover the cost of hearing aids?
Insurance companies are offering more and more coverage on hearing aids. Plans may cover all or part of the cost depending on the specific program. Our hearing experts are happy to contact your insurance company on your behalf in order to verify your coverage.
Will I need my primary care physician to refer me?
This depends entirely on your plan. Many commercial PPO plans do not require a referral from your physician to see an in-network provider. Certain insurance policies, including Medicare, do require a referral in order to cover testing and treatment recommendations. To help you understand if a referral is needed, our hearing experts will guide you through getting the proper referral and/or documentation for your services to be covered.
