I really did not like my experience with Dr. Andrews. I was told that he was a man of few words but didn’t realize how literal that was. I saw him for my knee and asked for a cortisone shot but he didn’t take time to prepare me as far as benefits, what to expect and timeframes. I told him I wanted to be numbed and he told me to get on the table and lay back. I started prepping my knee and I told him I still didn’t see any numbing spray. He nodded and said okay and I asked him to please numb me. He huffed and walked out of the room and got the spray, numbed me, did something (he didn’t talk much) and walked away and sat back down. I asked, “Is it finished” and said yeah and I sat up. On my initial paperwork, there was a question about being a current or former smoker and how much you smoked. I filled it out as being a previous smoker, when we got to the exam room, he never asked me about it and when I received my notes, he indicated that I was a current habitual smoker and that he counseled me about this which he never did. Now I’m trying to get in contact with the office to update my notes accordingly because this could be an insurance issue and this would have been cleared up if he had actually talked to me about it which he didn’t. He isn’t warm or compassionate at all. I am going to find another doctor in the location because his staff and assistants were very nice and professional and spoke to me way more than he did. I really had to ask a lot of questions and being a first time going through this, sometimes you just don’t know what to ask or what you don’t know. I’m glad they were able to get me in and expedite my appointments and MRI. His front staff is so helpful. But this guy is the ice king.
