Absolutely use another company. I will say Eileen is incredible! But the woman who is in billing that gets the information from the doctor and sends to insurance is AWFUL! Never replies to email or messages, Dr doesn't receive papers and then if they do then she states Dr office isn't sending them. I even had the Dr hand me the forms he faxed to them the day of an appointment. She finally calls and tries to tell me to LISTEN to her. I don't think so lady. You aren't doing your job and only now calling cause I have a feeling your supervisor spoke to you.
This is for a replacement wheelchair after the first wheelchair was damaged in a car accident. It's been a YEAR of back and forth and denials cause they weren't sending the right forms in time. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. Moving on to a different company.

I have been waiting six months to get any paperwork taken care of through you guys I call and I call and I call and I don’t get no answer and when I come in there, they say oh you got more doctors paperwork that needs to be sent over why are you guys not sending it? I drove an hour from my house just to go down there and see this company face-to-face And I still got the runaround.
Run as fast as you can and go the other way and look somewhere different

Worst customer service ever. I was told the chair would take between 6-8 weeks. It has now been about 4 months. I call several times per week for an update. Get voicemail. I have left messages for my rep to call. No reply. I have asked his supervisor and their supervisor to help and cakl me. Still waiting. Exhausting!! This is NOT customer service
Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
