I have been a patient at this office for several years and have never had an issue until recently.
Last month, I came in needing paperwork completed. I asked Dr. Pooja Shah if she could fill it out, and she immediately said she does not do that. When I asked if I could at least show her the paperwork, she dismissed it entirely and told me to go to my primary care provider without even reviewing it. The appointment became tense, and I left feeling angry, unheard, and dismissed.
Before my most recent appointment, I called the office to confirm whether doctors there complete this type of paperwork. I was told yes, that they do it often, and to bring the forms with me so they could be completed. This left me confused as to why it was refused during my previous visit.
At my appointment, I gave the paperwork to the front desk and was taken to the exam room. Although I was not originally scheduled to see Dr. Shah, she came in without greeting me and stated that she could complete the paperwork, then questioned why I didn’t bring it to my last appointment. I explained that I did, but she refused to review it at that time. Her response felt dismissive and confrontational, and I was told, “I’m not going back and forth with you — do you want the papers filled out or not?”
I felt extremely disrespected and unheard. As a patient, I expect to be treated with professionalism, respect, and to be listened to. Doctors are there to help patients, not dismiss concerns or respond with attitude.
Do better.
