  Our family had been a long time client of For Papa's Sake Home Care, when it was purchased by Avid Health at Home in 2023. The original agency was locally owned and operated, led by a compassionate family that truly cared for each and every client. After working with the Avid team for a few months, I realized that there had been a marked decline in the calibre and level of professionalism offered by the Avid team. The office staff was remote, distant and often rude. Caregivers were frequently late, and callouts became the norm. The agency touted a 24/7 on- call service number, however, it was often a challenge to reach this line. If a staff member answered, they often sounded as if they were asleep. With so many home care agencies serving the Chicagoland area, families have many good choices when seeking home care. Avid should not be one of those choices.

  This is a wonderful service. We had in home health care from Avid for over 1 year. They are reliable and really spend the time to make sure there is a great match between the family and the caretaker. They always check in with the family to make sure everything is going well and the person is getting the best care. The care takers are knowledgeable and caring. We could not have made it through without them. Thank you Avid

  For Papa's Sake has been so wonderful to work with. They make a stressful time so much easier to manage for the family. They are professional, yet kind. They take the time to get to know the patient and family and understand/respond quickly to their needs. They truly do try to match the caregiver to the patient's personality and needs. Their communication and follow up is flawless. With mom constantly going in and out of the hospital, they couldn't be more flexible in providing consistent caregivers when we need them based on our hectic schedule. The caregivers that work with mom are proficient and caring. Mom has bonded with each and every one of them. I would highly recommend this group without hesitation to anyone.

  My mom has had caregivers from For Papas Sake / Avid health since 2018! And in those nearly seven years, she has had 4 primary caregivers, which is a testament that their employees are happy working there. They take pride, as they should, in ensuring that there is a good fit between patient and caregiver. My mom has a high level of care needed and all her caregivers have been incredible! Their level of knowledge and true compassion is something very special. All of her caregivers felt like they were part of our family. Their management team has extraordinary communication skills. They are able to find last minute fill ins or extra caregivers in times of emergencies. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and am particular when it comes to medical care for my mom . I continue to be impressed with the high quality of this company. Highly recommend if you have a loved one needing extra care!!

  Our extended family has been very well-served by the staff at Avid/For Papa's Sake over the past 2+ years. The entire staff is responsive, professional and personable and we would highly recommend the group...for the critical work of caring for our loved ones with compassion, flexibility and overall excellence in service !
