  Eye Specialists of Rockford has looked after my eye care for almost thirty years. This week Dr. Masud Malik did cataract surgery on one of my eyes. I am very pleased with the results and very grateful to Dr. Malik for doing such a good job. I highly recommend Dr. Malik and all his excellent staff.

  I won't even give this a star! Dr. Yoon had the most unprofessional bedside manner I have ever witnessed in my 68 yrs of life! He did cataract surgery on my husband. During surgery, my husband experienced intense pain. DR. Yoon, never paused in the surgery to give any more pain management. Excusing it as " he's just very sensitive, and the pain was " it is as it is" in his words. I've had friends have cataract surgery without pain. Instead , when seeing Dr in his office 2 hrs after surgery, all the Dr was interested in was an apology for my husband's behavior under anesthia and him yelling at the Dr during the surgery that he was in pain. Yet the next day, when we saw him, he just stated that sometimes patients have reactions to medications given that are not their fault. Dr. Yoon didn't apologize to my husband for his attitude the day before. I would never recommend using Dr. Yoon's services again. My husband will be going elsewhere for his other eye cataract removal.

  My recent visit was professional and pleasant from beginning to end. The eye exam (refraction and dilation) was thorough and well explained. Dr Gupta was extremely knowledgeable and very willing to give me his time and answer my questions. They were willing to use my existing frames (not purchased there) and update the prescription lenses. There were no surprise charges and I left my appointment happy with the experience at this office.

  Dr. Malik and his technicians did a great job. My vision improved significantly. They did my right eye in December of 2022 and my vision was greatly improved. I could not believe that my vision would get that much better. In January 2023 Dr. Malik did my left eye. My vision got even better! The laser procedure only took three or four minutes per eye. At 72 years old I thought I was destined to have poor vision. Not true! Dr. Malik gave me a life changing event. Thank you Dr. Malik and the staff at Eye Specialists of Rockford.

  Try this again cuz it needs to be said Dr mallett is an exceptional optometrist and eye surgeon, I had cataract surgery done by a different doctor Dr Miller on my left eye for to put a lens in, yes I could see better a lot better but over a few months it wasn't as good as it was when it was first put in. Cost $8,000 cuz I did not have Medicare at the time quite a bit. When I did finally turn 65 was going to go back to Dr Miller's and have my right eye done I was told even with Medicare insurance and supplement insurance It was still going to cost me out of pocket $2,500 because they said I had a stigmatism and had to have a special lens. So I decided to find a second opinion so I went to the high institute of Rockford they had very good reviews made the appointment this is during the epidemic was starting to clear up a little bit in Illinois but you still had to wear a mask in the office even in the building no exceptions It was better than Miller eye center I waited in the waiting room for about 10 minutes before I was called in went into the examining room and was taken right away to different rooms for testing I was tested very thoroughly before talking to the doctor when he came in he was very concerned about making sure I was able to see I like that he seemed truly concerned I just wasn't an dollar sign to him, I was skeptical about what I was told by Miller eye clinic about $2,500 because I figured it would around $2,200 if I said that I know should be more trustworthy but, I was told that I did not need a torque lens because I did not have a stigmatism go figure then I finally told them what doctor I went to the first time they didn't ask I just came out and told them because I was beginning to trust in them I ended up paying $800 Yes that's right $800 and only $300 went to Dr milnek 500 went to the hospital It was laser instead of scalpel a lot less invasive in and out It was amazing when I went there I couldn't see anything out of my right eye when I went back for my checkup and they put me through all of the checkup procedures I was able to read even the bottom line which I hadn't been able to do in years I couldn't have even read the top line 2 weeks before with either I my right eye was perfect my left eye not so Dr melnick fixed my left eye and he said that was in the charge for everything I couldn't believe it It was amazing this man is truly helping people the staff are great always smiling I just can't say how happy I am that I went to him now my wife is going to use him, and anybody else that I know I am sure going to let them know about eye specialist of Rockford cuz that's just what they are specialist I'm always be grateful to them for giving my eyesight back I'm able to drive again do my woodworking projects without having to use magnifying glasses which was a pain. But anyways you get what I'm trying to say use this facility you will never be sorry. Thanks again for reading this if you went all the way through it I know it's a long story but it's a story that I needed to tell.
