I had my third Pilates class ever today, and out of three different instructors I’ve had thus far, I can say with confidence that Darryl is the best instructor here. He’s so encouraging, doesn’t ever laugh at you or make you feel bad when you mess up, and is so silly throughout the workout, keeping things light. He also makes adjustments for you where needed and ensures you understand, only blaming himself if you don’t get something right the first time. He’s honestly an inspiration to become an instructor. A different instructor I had today, when I asked a clarifying question on a move, literally said “you weren’t listening”. Mind you, I told them at the start of the class that it was only my third class ever. Whoever hired Darryl, please for the love of God, keep doing THAT. He’s the main reason I will continue here. Thank you so much, Darryl!

I had a very disappointing experience at this place. I received confirmation for an intro class and drove all the way there, but no one informed me in advance that special socks were required. As a beginner, I had no idea. I was completely willing to purchase the socks on-site, but I didn’t bring my wallet since I expected to be able to pay with Apple Pay, Zelle, or Venmo. Unfortunately, none of those options were accepted. What really made the experience worse was the front desk staff. She was not welcoming and came across as rude when I explained my situation. Instead of being understanding, the interaction made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I was genuinely excited to try something new this summer, but this experience completely ruined my mood.

The quality of the classes and instructors here has unfortunately declined significantly. Many instructors repeat the exact same sequences week after week, which leads to very little variation or progression. At times, the sequencing doesn’t feel intentional or well-structured, and in some classes we end up using just one piece of equipment for nearly the entire session to perform essentially the same movement pattern. For example, using a roll-down bar or circle to do five variations of the same side bend feels repetitive rather than purposeful. Some classes also feel overly lax in terms of pacing and energy. The tempo is often very slow, there is little to no music, and the overall experience can feel more like a stretching session than an actual workout. While instructors spend a lot of time on setup and explanation, the actual exercise execution itself feels rushed, which takes away from the effectiveness of the workout. It feels like there's only 5-10 seconds dedicated per exercise, which is not enough time to activate the muscles alone. I personally enjoy Pilates classes that follow a clear, logical structure with dedicated sections for different muscle groups (footwork, core, arms, back, and legs), but many recent classes don’t seem to incorporate this at all. I've attended several classes that didn't have a single core exercise in them, and I don't even know what I worked out by the end of it. There are so many brilliant exercises in Pilates, especially the classic ones, that I feel are overlooked. Because of this, I haven’t been seeing the results I used to from these classes.

I really enjoy Darryl’s classes. He challenges us to push beyond our comfort zones, and I’m grateful for Club Pilates and the Darryl Reformer 1 course.

When they say summer bodies are made in the winter Peter is the instructor that understands the assignment. Thank you for continuing to push me to be great
