  I go to the satellite in Pontiac and have for years. I have problems getting orders renewed by this office. I have polycythemia and when I need therapeutic phlebotomy, I need it soon. This is life or death. Last year it took them a week to get an order to the infusion center. They kept telling the infusion nurse they had sent the order and they had not. I had to call them several times about it myself and the nurses called them several times. My hemoglobin was dangerously high by the time I was able to get care. Today I found out that a standing order had expired. I had blood drawn, but the hospital could not run my cbc because they didn’t have the order. The lab tech called them and said they said that nothing needs to be done. They will reassess me in late March at my appt. ( if I waited until March 30th I would literally be dead). I called them and no one answered the phone. I kept calling, no answer. I left a message, no return call. Finally, I got in my car and drove 20 minutes to the office. I asked them why they were not answering the phone. They claimed they were. I called as I was walking in and just as the machine kicked on, 2 staff were sitting at the front desk. They clarified that I had been calling the right number and then I called it again at the desk and guess what? The phone lit up! They gaslit me and said there must be a connection problem. I pointed out that the phone seems to be working perfectly well. I mentioned the tech had called from the lab and had no problem getting through. They claimed they never spoke to anyone about my case (this was the only nurse in the office who said this). Someone must have because this tech was told I have an appt in late March. There would be no other way for her to know that. All said and done, they said they would send the order and printed a paper copy out for me. I took the paper copy over to the hospital lab so they could run my blood and guess what? They never received the fax from the office! Good thing I had a paper copy. So I had to basically do their work for them so that I can get treatment to prevent a stroke or heart attack. There was absolutely no concern on their end and a whole lot of gas lighting going on. They are a specialty clinic! This is so unacceptable and upsetting. Last year I spoke to the Dr about it and called the office manager, who was not helpful. This year I am leaving this one star review, which is well deserved by the office and nursing staff at Mid Illinois hematology and Oncology in Pontiac.

  Dr. Migas was incredible to work with. He took a terrifying situation and walked through it with me, in great detail and with exceptional patience and care, every step of the way. And since beating breast cancer, he is still a big part of my monitoring and post-treatment care. I trust him implicitly.

  I’ve been going to MIHOA. I love my doctor and all the staff are very kind. Love that I can get my labs and see my doctor all in one visit.
