Hoffman Estates has the most ignorant woman working there. I was in there as a walk-in at 4pm. I seen 3 patients get called in for appointments. When the "nurse" comes out to get the fourth patient, she asked me if I had an appointment. Told her I was a walk-in and she started to challenge me on that. Said that they close at 4:30 and they take their last appointment at 4:20, which it was almost 4:20. I told her that I have been waiting for the last almost 20 minutes and if you didn't take walk-ins after a certain time, why did the computer allow me to check in? she continued to tell me that they don't take walk-ins and I then asked her if they would be taking me and she repeated herself. I raised my voice and told her thank you for wasting my time! If this was the case, why don't they have someone working a window after certain times to let walk-ins know this and why didn't the other 3 employees that seen me say anything? I will NEVER show my face at that location ever again and if there was another place I could go, I would. For someone who is supposed to be in the medical field, her bedside manner lacks drastically.

I showed up to my appointment without the blood work order due to a mixup with my physicians office. Stephanie was very understanding and worked with me to keep my appointment while I worked with my physicians office to fax over the order. She was very kind and professional and did a great job which is why I was very satisfied with my entire experience with Quest.

Jonathan is awesome. He is so fast, efficient, and confident. I normally dread blood draws because my veins are small and normally difficult- lots of pokes and pain. Jonathan has gotten it on the first try every time (2 for 2!). I like the reservation and check in system, too. Getting labs used to be miserable but now it’s not so bad. Thanks!

The check-in process is awesome. They have a digital machine that checks you in and easily scans your ID and insurance card. So efficient. We waited under 10 minutes.
The person who did my blood draw was kind, quick, and respectful. I was in and out fast, and it didn’t hurt at all.
Honestly, so much better than going to my doctor’s office for labs. Highly recommend.

I visited Quest yesterday and the lab technician entered all codes mentioned on my lab order and said my order did not state it was an annual physical. I then went back to my doctor’s office and got the order updated with the code of Z00.01. I went in again this morning to give my blood with the updated order. The new technician did not even verify if all the codes on the doctor’s order are entered correctly even though I told him it was updated. I had to point out which code was added. He then added Z00.01. Nothing showed up on the Quest system for Z00.01! Z00.01 (general adult medical examination annual physical with abnormal findings) is a common code. Why isn’t it showing up?? I then asked the lab technician to leave it in even though it showed up with no description. The system is lagging with basic codes. The lab technician is not thorough with verifying what’s in the system vs on the order EVEN after saying it was updated. Disappointed!

Scheduled appointments are strongly encouraged and will receive priority. If you walk in, you will have to wait for the next available opening.
Should I be fasting?
Fasting before a blood draw means you don’t eat or drink anything except water. If your test requires it, don't forget to fast for 8-12 hours before your appointment. If you’re not sure, contact your doctor's office. To learn more about how to prepare for your test, visit QuestDiagnostics.com/patients/get-tested/prepare/fasting for additional fasting information.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please arrive and check in 10 minutes before your appointment time. If you check in more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, you will be served as a walk-in.
You should bring the following to your appointment:
•A lab order from your doctor. If your doctor did not give you a paper order, check with them to see if they sent it electronically.
•Photo identification listing your first name, last name, and date of birth (for example, a driver's license, government issued photo ID, Passport, or Green Card).
•Current health insurance information.
•Credit, debit, or health savings card. You will be asked to preauthorize payment for any balance due after your insurance is billed.
It’s important to also know if your test requires fasting the day before and/or morning of your appointment. Your healthcare provider should have indicated this on your lab order or during your visit. Learn more about fasting before a lab test.
Note: Childcare is not available and the waiting area is not attended. Some testing protocols, such as drug screenings or pre-employment screenings, have strict rules which do not allow children to accompany the patient during sample collection. If you have questions about your testing protocols, please contact your healthcare professional or employer for additional information.
How do I check in when I arrive?
Sign in using the Check-in kiosk, or if not available, sign the clipboard at the front desk. Please be prepared to present a valid photo ID and insurance information. Be sure to mark the reason for your visit when signing in.
If you were unable to preregister ahead of time, and would like to do so, you may be able to complete the registration process if you arrive a few minutes early at a Quest Patient Service Center that has a Check-in kiosk. When you check in with your mobile number, you may be asked if you want to complete the registration process on your smartphone while you wait.
My doctor told me they would send over an order. Do you have it?
If your doctor said they would send us the order electronically or via fax, there is no need to confirm that we have the order. If we do not have the order, we will call the doctor to obtain it when you arrive at our Quest Patient Service Center. To prevent delays, be sure to visit our location during your doctor’s office hours or obtain a copy of your order from your doctor.
How soon after my visit will my doctor receive my lab test results?
Turnaround times for test results can vary. If you have a MyQuest account, your test results will be delivered to your account as soon as they are available. This can take 2-5 business days from the time the sample is received, depending on your test.
You should always follow up with your doctor to discuss your results.
