I went to Dr. Lyons after a Dupuytren’s contracture surgery on my pinky finger. I was constantly told I was doing everything wrong for my home exercise program. My finger was manipulated forcefully which hurt a lot. Due to the forceful manipulation I started great bruising as a result. I ended up seeking other post-op care for my recovery due to my poor experience.

I am upset with the insurance side of this business. They're all alike, with no transparency, including my insurance. I'm so fed up with finding out my bill is over 4x's what i expected AFTER the visit!. I thought my copay was $15 per visit and it's $64 which I found out on my EOB. I had RVPT call my insurance like 4 x's after they called my insurance several times. I wasn't told how much I was paying before I went in. I would not have gone if I knew it was gonna be that high. Anyway, in retrospect, I could have asked my doctor for my knee exercises for free on a sheet of paper for $0.00. So I wasted $64 & an unnecessary visit. They charged my insurance over $500 for that visit, so I had to pay what's called a coinsurance instead of a copay. I don't know about these guys. I'm just fed up with it. Now, my medical doctor told me a medicine of $1800 is covered by my insurance, and I called my insurance, and it is not as if it's a specialty drug!!! No matter how hard you do your homework, you still get surprises. I thought there's a policy of insurance companies being more transparent as well as the doctor's hospitals and physical therapists, but I don't see any progress on that.
