Dr. Hatland is a healer. Some of these reviews express some of the challenges that people have encountered because he isn’t the most high tech doctor in town. But what he is is an intuitive, aware, healer. If you struggle with pain or TMJ or issues that other dentists can’t solve or are telling you that you need expensive surgeries for, this doctor can help you. You need to be patient, as he is an older man, but if you tap into your intuition, you may find that this dentist can impact your wellness and your life. I credit him for saving mine. I was in so much pain as a younger person I didn’t think I’d live to see my life as it is now.
I have been a patient of Dr. Hatland for 20 years. I have referred many folx suffering with TMJ issues to him and he has helped to heal them all.

Very informed professional who took the time to explain to me why I’m having issues and what my options for solving them are, as well as why those options work. Highly recommend if you are looking for a holistic dentist.

I had gone to the same dentist for cleanings every six months for 20 years. When I told my dentist that a couple of my front teeth were loose, he referred me to a periodontist. You can imagine my distress when the periodontist told me I had advanced gum disease and would likely lose a tooth within a few months! I kept asking, “How did this happen?” and the periodontist shrugged his shoulders. I think he didn’t want to criticize my dentist…which I get. After all, he gets referrals from my dentist. I got a second opinion…and it was more shocking than the first. My niece encouraged me to see Dr Hatland for yet another opinion. I am so glad I did!
In my first visit with Dr Hatland, he said my probe depths weren’t hopeless and he could save my teeth. In 18 short weeks, I no longer have loose teeth and my probe depths have improved by 45%. Yes, I had to do my part (wear a nightguard, use a HydroFloss oral irrigator, keep appointments) but none of it has been difficult. I’m very grateful to Dr Hatland and his wonderful staff. I would give 10 stars if I could.

I never made it into the chair. I walked out. Let me tell you why.
I walked in for my first appointment about 5 minutes early as there is usually first time patient forms to fill out. I felt like I was stepping onto the set of Miami Vice. The color scheme was peach and turquoise and had not been decorated in 3o years. The chairs were falling apart too.
I filled out my papers listening to a patient crying....on speaker phone. How professional. One receptionist took the phone into the doctor who was working on another patient. I asked the other woman behind the desk if that person on the phone was crying. She kind of snorted and half laughed out a "yeah." I replied, "geeze, I hope that if I ever call here crying you wouldn't put me on speaker for the whole world to hear." She gave me a "whatever" face. Again, really professional.
It gets better. So the dentist is working on a patient while talking to this hysterical woman on the phone...."you have to come into the office! I am telling you!...You also need to get a [some kind of device] and bring it with you!...listen to me!...dont even THINK of coming in here if you don't have a [some kind of device]!!!!...I am not wasting my time if you don't bring it with you!!!!" Holy crap! How rude.
So now it's 12:15 and 15 minutes past my appointment so I ask the ladies behind the desk if they know how long it's going to be because I have to get back to work, I'm on lunch. One of them replies, "oh, well, what time do you need to get back?" Seriously, does it matter? Then the other one says, "Oh...uhm...yeah...I don't know of any doctor who keeps timely appointments. I should have told you that he is never on time when you made the appointment. I argue with him about this all the time....uhm....sooooo sorrrrrry....."
So I got up and left.
Frequently Asked Questions About Raymond G. Hatland DDS
What’s Included in the Free Dental Implant Consultation?
Many patients come in unsure about what they need for dental implants. We offer a free consultation for mini dental implants, and we take the necessary X-rays so you receive an accurate assessment. During that visit, you’ll get a customized treatment plan outlining exactly what you need, whether it’s one implant or several, and the full cost.
In most cases, all implants can be placed in a single appointment that typically takes about an hour. We look forward to seeing you at your free dental implant consultation.
Do You Accept Dental Insurance?
Many patients ask whether we accept insurance, and the answer is yes. Some plans have their own restrictions, but in general we work with insurance carriers. I’m a Delta Dental Premier Dentist, which means I follow their fee schedule and you receive their discounted rates.
If you have questions about coverage, we can help you sort through the details. Schedule a free consultation, and I’ll give you my best assessment and an accurate cost estimate.
How Long Does the Mini Dental Implant Process Take?
Many patients want to know how long it takes to get an implant-supported crown. With traditional implants, the process can take four to six months. With mini implants, it’s typically only three to six weeks, depending on the individual case. Mini implants are nonsurgical, meaning we don’t expose or reshape the bone in most situations. In about 99% of cases, the implant is placed directly with minimal trauma, and it begins with roughly 50% integration from the start. The result is faster healing and far less disruption to the body.
If you’re looking for a quicker, more affordable, and less traumatic way to replace missing teeth with implants, schedule a free consultation.
What Cosmetic Dentistry Options Do You Offer?
Cosmetic dentistry offers many treatment options, including orthodontics, veneers, crowns, and even cosmetic fillings. I also remove mercury fillings safely, and in some cases the metal becomes visible through the outer tooth surface when you smile. All of these issues are treatable.
If you’d like to discuss your concerns and explore affordable solutions, schedule a consultation.
What Denture Options Are Available?
Many patients ask whether I provide full dentures, and the answer is yes. I also offer implant-supported dentures for patients who have too little ridge to hold a traditional denture in place. With these, the denture can snap onto the implants for stable function, and you can remove it easily for cleaning and maintenance. It’s a convenient and reliable option.
In some cases, if your existing denture is well-made, I can place implants to stabilize it without needing a new one. However, the bite is often the limiting factor; a poorly aligned bite can make successful denture treatment impossible. I focus heavily on bite accuracy, and I design dentures to place your bite exactly where it should be.
If you’re considering dentures, we have multiple solutions to choose from. Call the office to schedule a consultation so we can determine what you need.
