Choosing frames is usually daunting for me but it was pretty easy at the LensCrafters in Lincolnwood at District 1860. Only a few other people were in the store at the time which was nice. Will pointed me in the right direction after looking at the current the size and characteristics of the frames I was looking for. I didn’t want oversized or fashion type glasses.
I went to those areas selected several from each. He even selected a few that he thought I might consider based on my old frames.
I narrowed it down to three and had a tough decision between two. I decided on one of the two. Will took the measurement required for progressive lens bifocals. I paid and was on my way.
Will was very helpful & pleasant. I enjoyed the interaction with him and his assistance with selecting my frames.
I also inquired about getting another pair of glasses and have 30 days to decide if I’ll get a pair of prescription sunglasses or not.
Wish optical stores still had a lab on the premises. Apparently, those days are gone.
I’ll be notified when they are ready for pick up, within 10 days or so.

My son came in for his contacts lens last evening. They gave his trial contacts without writing on the package which was Left or which was right. He has never worn contacts before so they did not show him how he can put them on or take them off. Specifically just gave it and said wear it and if your comfortable come back and order and then we will give you the prescription. Honestly what kind of service is this 🤦♀️

Poor customer service provided to a first-time customer.
The receptionist was not friendly or approachable when conducting the eye exam before the sitting with the doctor. When I accompanied my fiance for this part of the eye exam because he wasn’t feeling well, she replied “Why to stand there?”
Then she proceeded to have him sign a disclosure in the dark room without turning the light on. It would have been a better idea to provide paperwork in the waiting room where it is well lit. During the exam the receptionist and/or assistant was so robotic going through procedures with no interest in talking to us as first-time customers. It was so awkward that my fiance asked to not do the air pressure test for his right eye. She seemed to not care.
The doctor was friendlier to my fiance. Midway through the exam my partner expressed concerns about his vision and honest feedback. The conversation moved into an awkward direction when the eye doctor proceeded to question and lecture my fiance about his anxiety; it felt like inappropriate advise to a first-time patient that he just met for 15 minutes.
Instead of making us feel more comfortable or welcomed, we felt like it was a transactional visit to begin with and the doctor stepped out of his lane lecturing my partner about his anxiety when he was having a bad day. The eye recommendations were factual and made sense. Credibility was lost due to the failure to build a relationship with us as first- time clients. I will be scheduling my annual exam with a different provider.

I stopped by LensCrafters initially just to browse and get familiar with their selection, and the team was incredibly helpful in getting me scheduled for an eye exam the following week. During my appointment, the concierge assisting the doctor was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience feel seamless. The doctor was thorough, informative, and had an excellent bedside manner - I genuinely felt well taken care of.
Afterward, Titianna, the sales associate, was wonderful to work with. She gave me space to explore while still being attentive and offered thoughtful input on what frames suited me best. Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
