One of the cleanest CorePower studios I’ve been to! Stephanie is the best instructor, her classes are so motivating and fun. I live a little far but I still try to make it whenever I can. 🤍🤍

I attended a class today with instructor Lauren, and I want to share my experience because it was extremely disappointing. This was my first time trying this type of class, and I expected a welcoming and motivating environment. Unfortunately, it was neither. The class itself was very easy and not challenging, but more importantly, the instructor showed no professionalism. Despite it being my first time, Lauren offered no guidance, encouragement, or engagement. At the end of class, my friend thanked her, and Lauren gave only a slight look, said nothing, and walked away. After class, two women approached us and made extremely inappropriate comments, asking if we had a disability. Lauren was present and did nothing to step in or address the situation. Allowing that behavior to happen without any intervention was unacceptable and unprofessional. Overall, the experience left me feeling ignored, singled out, and unwelcome as a new client. I have never had an instructor appear so disengaged from both the class and the people in it. Based on this experience, I do not plan to return to the studio unless I know this concern is taken seriously. I strongly encourage you to address this matter with Lauren, as today’s experience does not reflect the standard of professionalism a studio like yours should uphold.

CorePower Yoga in Glenview offers a fantastic variety of classes for all levels. The instructors are motivating and knowledgeable, with a focus on both strength and mindfulness. The studio is clean, modern, and has a welcoming atmosphere. I especially love the heated classes—perfect for deepening your stretch and detoxing. Great place for anyone looking to challenge themselves while finding some inner peace.

I tried out this yoga studio because a friend of mine was starting there and gave me the heads up on the free two week pass you get for buying a $9 yoga mat. That seemed like a good deal to me. Also, the 6 am classes are a better fit for my schedule than the 6:30 am classes at my current studio. I live an hour away from work (in the Glenview area), so I like to get in an early class after the drive and before the work day.
I double checked the hours of the Glenview location - 6 am to 10 pm every day - and decided to plan for the Wednesday 6 am class, shower after, and head to work. There was traffic on the I-94 (Edens) spur that morning and I was going to be 5 minutes late. I was upset knowing that they might not let me into the class, which is understandable, I don't like disruptions in my classes either. However, I could use the showers to get ready for work.
When I arrived, the outer door to the business was locked, and as I pulled on the door (confused, since they were open), a woman in the lobby pointed at her watch, then the studio in session, then shook her head at me and walked away. I was stunned at this. How could I (so rudely) be turned away from a studio during open hours?? I tried to knock on the door again to ask if I could at least use the showers to prepare for work. No answer. Being an hour away from home and my other studio, I had to sit in my car for an hour and a half for my 7:30 work day to start. Walking into my workplace in sweats was awkward, and so was changing in the bathroom, without feeling fresh from a shower. Just awful.
After work I called the manager of this location. She offered me one extra day on my free pass and blamed the cleaning staff for locking me out. First of all, the woman who gestured at me was definitely not cleaning staff, based on her appearance and the fact that she had no cleaning supplies. But that doesn't really matter, I don't think it is very professional to deflect a customer complaint towards a service provider. If CorePower advertises that they are open between 6 am an 10 pm, then they should have someone manning the desk to help with members and new customers. The manager told me that they do not have the resources to man the desk the entire time… but looking at the quality of the studio, I doubt that. It's very obvious that they are just being cheap about their staffing. So the manager said that she "hopes I will come back and give the place another try." But why would I, if I don't even have access to the facilities if I am running late? That is a complete waste of money. I've never heard of a gym locking members out after opening hours.
I am giving this studio 1 star, because while speaking to the manager I told her I wanted to write a poor review, but I thought that calling her first was only fair, to see if there was a misunderstanding. She didn't seem to care about my experience at all, and definitely didn't help with finding a solution. This indicates to me that she cares little about the business and little about the customers.
When I go to yoga, I am there for a positive experience that sets the tone for my day. I have never had such a negative experience with any yoga studio.
