  Dr Guffy is absolutely worth the drive from Chicago ! She is very professional, personable and listens to my concerns with compassion ! What a great doctor to have and keep truly always appreciate her advice and feedback and Tx ! Super nice and intelligent too

  After my long time primary retired (different network), I wasn't sure where to go, but my wife had recently started seeing Dr. Guffy, and was really impressed with her, so I decided to check her out. She was super polite, relatable and fun to talk to. She was also very thorough. I needed to continue my prescription from my previous doctor, but Dr. Guffy raised concern about my untreated high blood pressure and this particular medication. After a recheck, she got me to finally get treatment for my BP before continuing previous rx. After getting on medication, I started to notice having far less fatigue after doing stuff likely because my heart wasn't having to work so hard anymore. I am absolutely convinced that she probably saved me from having a stroke or heart attack. Not sure why my previous doctor never pushed on me to take my BP seriously, but I am damn glad Dr.Guffy did! All of the staff here are SO pleasant to interact with, and nurse Kelly is super nice!

  I would like to share a terrible experience I had with Dr. Jennifer Guffey on Wednesday October 2, 2024. I was reluctant to do this, but her behavior as a doctor was unacceptable and unprofessional in my opinion and being a health care provider she should behave as such. I went for a follow up appointment and I requested some blood work. As my primary I would expect my request to not be an issue. The blood work I requested was not a big deal and if it made me feel better to do so as a patient, then I should have received it. I’m not sure what happened before she came in to the room with me but I felt she was highly agitated. She was not friendly, typing super hard on the keyboard, and huffing and puffing with her breaths. I was feeling super uncomfortable but continued to answer her questions thinking maybe she was having a bad morning. Everything I was answering to her seemed to be a problem and she was questioning me. She was so rude that I found it hard to even explain myself as she wouldn’t let me get a word in edgewise. She became more agitated when I was trying to explain to her that another provider put me on a prescription and told me it was not her job to do blood work on me because another provider put me on something. I tried explaining that was not the only reason I wanted the blood work. I had other concerns. She then went on to lecture me about what I was trying to explain to her about my weight and just made me feel so bad about myself. I was feeling so attacked and just wanted to leave the room. I was holding back tears. I got up and told her I guess I do not even know why I am here. She was so unprofessional and argumentative I was in shock by the way she treated me. She said “ok” and you need to find another provider that better suits your needs. I then asked her why she was treating me so aggressively and she told me I was the one with an attitude and have had one since the minute she walked in the room. I was flabbergasted that she said that to me. I have never had a provider say that I was rude or anything of that nature and I was definitely not the one who was being rude. I was maybe a bit lost for words because of her attitude towards me, but not rude. I would never treat a heath care provider bad. I think that is the part that upsets me the most. She blamed her bad behavior on me. She walked out of the room and I was left feeling confused. I wasn’t even sure if the appointment was over or what to do. A few minutes later the nurse (who was very sweet) walked back in and told me I could go and let me leave. The whole way home I kept thinking what I could have done to make her so upset. It really bothered me. Whatever her problem was, she could have talked to me like a normal person and educated me on her thoughts instead of coming at me so aggressively. She even went as far as to write a very unprofessional dictation in my chart of the visit. She is so unprofessional and I will never step foot into the Durand SSM heath or any other SSM health facilities again. I will move my family to another health care facility. If this can prevent even one person from being shamed and humiliated by her then it was worth my time.
