  I recently turned 40 and scheduled my first appointment at SSM Health Breast Care in Columbia, IL, and I had a really positive experience. Jamie and Fran Karnuth, APRN-CNP were both incredibly kind, thorough, and had great bedside manner. Fran took the time to listen and made me feel comfortable and heard, which was a refreshing change from past experiences where I felt rushed. I was also able to go right next door for my mammogram, which made everything super convenient. Gretchen was amazing—she made a potentially uncomfortable and stressful procedure as easy as possible, explained everything clearly, and let me know what to expect with results. I did leave with a small skin abrasion that’s a bit sore, but I understand that mammograms aren’t the easiest procedures and appreciate the care she took to keep me comfortable. Being able to get my labs done at Quest Diagnostics down the hall was another big plus—it really felt like a one-stop shop. Overall, a great experience with a caring and professional team. I would definitely recommend

  First time here for a mammogram since Gateway Imaging closed. Easy to schedule an appointment online, fast service time, and friendly conversation. I'll be back next year.

  Gretchen was so nice. She explained everything well and got the unpleasant part done quickly. I was in and out in no time. The warm gown especially on this cold day was the best. I would highly recommend SSM Health Breast Care.

  I would like to give a shout out to the mammogram technician. I am 60 I have been taking mammograms since 40 and when I tell you, she was so gentle and professional She’s A+ staff for you all I will return for the next mammogram. She told me to bend my knees when she was doing a mammogram and that would take pressure from. It’s me feeling so much pressure when I tell you I’ve never been told that she needs to give a mammogram class to other mammogram technician.
