The pharmacist, Steve was incredibly nice, patient, and helpful, he took his time to answer my questions and made sure I understood the medication I was prescribed and it’s potential side effects.

This pharmacy doesn't even deserve the 1-star rating that I'm forced to give. I've been a long-time pharmacy customer of Osco's starting out at the Crystal Lake location for many years & then transferring to the Schaumburg location for many years after that as well. Both of those locations are AMAZING! However, once I moved to Chicago & attempted to get everything switched over to this Osco location, it's been nothing but a huge disappointment & nightmare. STEVE is, by far, the rudest & most judgmental pharmacist I've ever dealt with in my entire life! I have several severe chronic pain issues that I take LEGALLY PRESCRIBED controlled substances to help manage & improve my quality of life. It has been this way for over a decade now with a long-standing history & record of me taking these same exact meds in Osco's system. Steve almost wasn't going to dispense my medication to me yesterday because he "wasn't comfortable with it," despite an astronomical amount of evidence in Osco's system proving that these are routine maintenance meds for me. Steve also lied to me over the phone when I initially tried to switch over to this pharmacy. He told me that his corporate office must have canceled/rejected the order for another one of my medications because there had to be an active script on file for it. I'm not new or a stranger to how the prescribing of controlled substances works seeing as that I'm also a registered nurse myself. I'm well aware there has to be an active script on file and there was! I'm also going to be filing an official complaint regarding Steve with Osco's corporate office. He is the epitome of a pharmacist that should have never became a pharmacist in the first place! Again, as a nurse, I know full well that ANYONE in healthcare (no matter what role) should take the time to learn a patient's case-by-case story and do everything they can to help any given patient's setbacks & disabilities, not make up ridiculous excuses as to why they feel the need to discriminate and cast judgment. As a chronic pain patient AND a nurse, nothing irks me more than ignorant healthcare workers that act like I enjoy having several painful spinal conditions that cause me to have to rely on medication just to get by in life. Like it's my fault and I asked & wanted to draw the short straw in the health department & asked/wanted to have several severe conditions that cause excruciating pain. Yep, it's completely my fault too that a quack of a chiropractor literally completely herniated C5-C7 for me back in like 2012. I suppose it's also my fault that the first cervical fusion surgery that I had back in 2013 failed and now I have non-union of the vertebrae in my neck! I'm currently in the process of working on getting a revision cervical fusion (fyi nobody knows just quite how painful pseudarthrosis of the neck AKA non-union of bone/vertebrae is until they experience it for themself), a majorly invasive lumbar spine surgery, and also a total right knee replacement. I literally have pain from head to toe on a daily basis!! The last thing I need is a pharmacist treating me like I'm some kind of drug addict that takes these drugs recreationally 'just for funsies,' & threatens to not dispense my meds because he's "not comfortable" with my healthcare needs. Trust me, I'm "not comfortable" on a daily basis at any given moment either, but I have never felt more degraded, judged, and disrespected by a pharmacist than how Steve made me feel & treated me. Bottom line is - don't even bother becoming a pharmacist if you personally have a problem with certain classes of medications. If you're going to treat a chronic pain patient differently than a high blood pressure patient and/or a diabetic patient, please just stay out of the healthcare field altogether! There aren't certain medical conditions that are more valid than others. Everyone experiencing ANY sort of health setback deserves the same treatment & RESPECT!! And SERIOUSLY - SHAME ON YOU, STEVE...BECAUSE ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME!✌️✝️📿🙏🏻 I will pray for you!

The pharmacy staff here is superior to any pharmacy I've used in Chicago. They went above and beyond to get me my asthma medication when i needed it urgently. You would have no clue how busy they really are because their compassion and excellent customer service make you feel like you are a priority. Plus you get 20% off your groceries after filling 5 prescriptions. I moved away and live walking distance to an Osco pharmacy in Oak Park but still go across town to this one on Western to fill my prescriptions.
