- ALAndrew LSep 20, 20251.0The 1.7 stars on Yelp are warranted. I waited today almost 5 minutes at the Deli while two workers focused on doing whatever. I was the only one waiting. I finally had to — more-or-less politely — ask one of the ‘busy’ workers to please cut me some ham. She was surly to me, and downright rude to a guy who came while I was being reluctantly served. There are plenty of other Jewels nearby. I’m going to trek a bit farther to go to a decent grocery store. I’ve done retail. The very first lesson I learned and internalized is that, whatever you’re doing and however important it seems, when a customer comes in, you drop everything. The customer is WHY you’re there, and ultimately is the one who pays your wages.
