Aside from Dr. Lawless, I don’t know how customer service can get any worse. If it’s not the fact that they don’t answer the phones or you get stuck in an endless loop after selecting option 1 or 2, or the fact that the happy holidays is still in the initial pre recorded message and Valentine’s Day is coming up, then it’s the fact that there always seems to be something more important (like their cell phones) than the customer right in front of the people who work there. At this point it’s worth it to drive farther to get better service than to return to this location. This place is not worth the headache.

My visit went just as expected. I’ve been a customer for over 20 years, and the experience remains consistently positive. The staff was polite, professional, and very helpful throughout my appointment. They also gave me great feedback on the different styles of glasses I tried on, which I really appreciated. Overall, another smooth and pleasant visit!

I gave them 1 star due to customer service! I went to pick up glasses I order and had to bring back because of the wrong prescription and when I arrived Tina ask can I help you? I told her my name and that I had 2 glasses to pick up, she gave me both of my glasses and ask me to try them on. When I told her they fit but one of the glasses I gave them also have the case. She said that why we tell customer not to leave their cases and proceed to help another customer. No case. No bag. Just 2 glasses in my hand. I walked out to my car and thought about how much money I gave them so I went back in and demanded a case for the glasses gave them. She went to the back and gave me a case again with no bag. No I'm sorry for the mix up. No nothing. Tina was not welcoming at all.

I have had a mostly positive experience at their Cal City location. The one negative experience involves them canceling my appointment without any notification. They called a couple of times to confirm appointment but I work two jobs so was working when calls were made. I came in to my appointment for my kid just for them to tell me it had been cancelled. Luckily my slot was still availiable. I would just say if you are going to cancel because you need confirmation that should be made clear when scheduling with them. Also maybe provide multiple ways to confirm such as via email when sending appointment reminder. It would also be helpful to send a cancelation notice when canceling an appointment. Other than that I've had a decent experience and most staff seem nice.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
