I am currently 11 weeks post-op from a shoulder labrum repair and, up until recently, my experience had been very positive. I want to emphasize that I had a great experience with Dr. Rotstein, the entire physical therapy department, and the day of my procedure was smooth and well-coordinated. Unfortunately, my experience has taken a sharp turn due to the handling of my care by Dr. Rotstein’s support staff. I was denied medication refill requests on two separate occasions—once by Walgreens, and once from myself-for a muscle relaxer and for a non-opioid pain medication. I was told the latter was “too expensive,” yet no alternative options were offered. Instead, I was directed to “go see my pain specialist,” a provider I have not seen since last year and who is not managing this injury. At 11 weeks post-op, I am still experiencing significant pain throughout my arm, which may be nerve-related. Rather than addressing these concerns in a clinically appropriate and patient-centered way, the response I received felt dismissive and lacked continuity of care. It was only after I advocated for myself that the refills were ultimately provided—and even then, the interaction suggested that my chart may not have been thoroughly reviewed. If the clinical team does not feel I warrant appropriate pain management while still actively under their care, it raises serious concerns about the quality and consistency of treatment being provided. It also makes it difficult to justify continuing to pay $300 per week out-of-pocket for physical therapy within this system.

My experience was amazing. Everybody was nice and on their game. Dr. Bernstein was very knowledgeable and answered every question quickly and easily and I was very happy with the meeting and the outcome. Thank you.

This practice knows how to schedule appointments and not make patients sit in their waiting room, long past their scheduled appointment times! I was initially disappointed to find out that Dr. Bernstein is booked for the next several months, but I was able to get an appointment for today with Katie Pope, PA-C, Dr. Bernstein’s PA. I didn’t realize that she had to be certified, and would be able to diagnose and treat my shoulder pain, including giving me an injection that I barely felt! I left with a printed order for PT and my next appointment, if needed. I’ve always had positive experiences w/ Barrington Orthopedic Specialists.

I had a very bad appointment experience with Dr. Sean Jereb, MD. I had a severe injury in my right knee my meniscus tear and detaches from the root in the right that day, but I also had the same injury on my left. I was not able to walk, but Dr Jareb said it looks like sciatica pain based on his personal experience with the sciatic pain, but unfortunately, my case was not same as his case and he did not check my knees how they were functioning. Where I had pain. Just gave steroids pack. I also mentioned I had sever left knee pain but he said that is little bit of arthritis and that’s it. I went to physical therapy and I suffered to find out what happened. In January found out that I had meniscus injuries in both of knees. Left knee had severe arthritis developed and had to meniscus repair and HTO this month. I also need meniscus repair for my right knee. I have to take a legal actions in order to teach this the doctors how to treat the patients. Patients are just not a source of income, they also need treatment as they needed. Thank you, Syeda Fatima
