I had an extremely positive experience at the Idaho Foot and Ankle Nampa location.
I arrived over half an hour in advance of my scheduled appointment time. When I checked in with Brittanie at the front desk, she was very welcoming, friendly, and quite jocular. Having never been to their office (or any podiatrist’s office at all for that matter) her professional, yet genuine and witty, manner put me at ease – and even though I had to wait awhile due to my aforementioned early arrival, I was still called on to be seen prior to my scheduled appointment time.
Angie is the nurse who performed my assessment. She was very kind, knowledgeable and skilled at her job, asked me pertinent questions, and gave me straight forward answers to the queries I posed her. She was very efficient with both her time and mine, and she had the data entered, x-rays taken and ready, and necessary medical supplies the doctor would need to treat me prepped and ready to go in what seemed no time at all.
After just a few short minutes of waiting (and still prior to my actual scheduled appointment time) Dr. Andrews came into the patient room. He reviewed the information Angie had left for him, patiently listened to me babble on incessantly about my issues, and then calmly and skillfully began his treatment. In my case, I had friction blisters on both heels that had partially healed over and callused to the point where there was fluid trapped with nowhere to go (the shoes that had caused this problem are in a landfill somewhere, but a shoutout and THANK YOU to Fleetfeet for helping me get into appropriate shoes and socks after I failed so spectacularly on my own).
Dr. Andrews was able to clear away the tissue without causing me any discomfort at all, explained concisely what he was doing to sanitize and prevent infection so that I could do the same, patiently repeated himself so I could take notes and emulate his care, gave me advice about some options I could take to prevent future foot pain I was having as a result of a pinched and inflamed nerve, administered a cortisone shot to the foot – checking in often to make sure I was not in extreme discomfort (he explained it could hurt a great deal, but I barely felt the shot – a testament to his skill and care), discussed footwear for exercise including looking at the shoes I had brought in so could evaluate if he felt I needed to make any changes (I didn’t – thanks again Fleetfeet), answered more of my questions and addressed more of my concerns, and then suggested I return for a follow-up appointment in a month. Basically, Dr. Andrews did everything short of personally crafting socks and shoes that would fit my feet with custom perfection – but what he did do was take all the time I needed him to take to put me at ease, and to solve the problems which had brought me to Idaho Foot and Ankle.
My impression of the staff, from arrival to departure, is that they care about their patients. I am very appreciative of how attentive everyone was, and am grateful that I chose a podiatrist office that validated, addressed, and treated the issues which had brought me to see them. While I hope I do not have to make a habit of returning on a regular basis, knowing that they are there should I need to return is a welcome relief.
