I was referred to Dr. Petts by Dermatology, who made the appointment for me. The wait was 2 weeks, which is unheard of. Check-in was super-easy; the receptionist was very kind as was the nurse who took me back for vitals. Dr. Petts was a DREAM. Kind, patient, punctual and knowledgeable--everything you want from your doctor. She is taking new patients, which is fabulous because I am going to transfer my child! You can't go wrong with this office and this doctor. 5-stars!

Before I visited Dr. Wunschel, I had seen a few allergies that did not provide me any answers. When I arrived to her my allergies were causing me immense misery, resulting in daily hives that significantly impacted my quality of life. Dr. Wunschel was the first doctor that listened to my concerns, conducted the necessary tests, and finally gave me answers to my questions, without labeling my condition as anxiety or that it was all in “my head”, as previous doctors had done over the years. Over the past two years, I’ve been seeing her, and she has changed my life for the better. I highly recommend her to everyone not only because she is an expert in this area, but because she listens to me and has helped me feel “normal” and has helped me keep my hives under control!

This Allergy practice is an absolute nightmare. Office visit was rushed and dismissive. Provider ordered a bunch of blood tests without explaining to me which specific tests were being ordered, and what they were for. I performed one of them and immediately realized it was one I had already completed elsewhere, several times. I was asked to complete the others "when I had a flare," even though I just explained in clinic that I have symptoms all the time, so this told me the provider hadn't listened to me or considered my case to any real extent while in clinic.
Perhaps most concerning is the claims this office makes about the potential, or lack thereof, for anaphylactic or delayed mild or moderate allergic reactivity to skin prick testing. Firstly, I have personally experienced moderate and delayed reactivity to skin prick testing in the past. Other allergists fully acknowledge that possibility and are able to clearly articulate response protocol. Multiple evidence-based sources claim that anaphylaxis is possible with skin testing. However, when I asked about the response protocol in the event of that scenario, the provider verbally claimed in office that "reactions don't happen with skin tests." I double checked with the nurse over the phone, who was also hesitant to acknowledge the possibility. They only backpedaled the claim when I asked again in writing over the portal. These disparate claims about dangerous reactions transcend industry best practice and are blatantly false. Taken altogether, clinical practice here fundamentally undermines my trust in the medicine they administer, and leaves me concerned for my safety. What is going to happen to me if I have a reaction as a result of an event that my provider spontaneously denies the possibility of?
At best, the misinformation they espouse, and the practices that ensue, are potentially dangerous.
